❛ ⸻huh ? ❜ turning head of bouncy brown spikes toward the princess, pit stared for a moment, looking a little dumbfounded. questions like this didn’t come the angels way frequently…… how did he reply to that ?

humming in thought as he began to process it pit glanced away, wondering. what did keep him up at night ? well…… the strain of having to more or less singlehandedly protect and aid a goddess immediately came to mind but, shortly after……

it was hard not to think for himself and to be brave no matter the task at hand, there had been plenty of times where others had chided him for his simplistic mindset, for leaving everything to lady palutena and following blindly…… and they were right. pit had to, it was part of his job description to do any and everything asked of him, as an angel, but most importantly as a captain. she trusted him and he trusted her, but sometimes…… leaving behind his better judgement was tricky, living for someone else first and foremost……

padding along behind the boy had quickly become a part of pikachu’s daily routine. as far as he could tell, he had no pokémon of his own, and that was DANGEROUS. wild pokémon didn’t care who you were, they would attack without question.

and pikachu didn’t want him to get HURT if he could help it.

these last few days had quite possibly been the strangest ones dark pit has had in a while. filled with exploring this weird world he’d somehow found along with some strange rat...... thing following him around like a bad smell.

it was odd, but considering the kind of things he’d seen in the underworld, he could get use to it.

pit grew up alongside his parents who were well respected messengers of lady palutena, they have watched him grow by their side and push the boundaries of what is expected of angels, supporting him wholeheartedly and making sure no backlash or rude comments disheartened him on his way up the ranks. you can bet that the celebration held when pit made captain was unlike any other.

as duty calls pit saw a lot less of his parents in their final years but they were always so proud of their son and pit will forever be grateful for the boundless support they gave.

though not created with pit’s memories he is limited by pit’s downfalls in certain areas. just like pit, dark can’t read, but he hates the dependability of needing to ask others to read things for him so he’s trying his best to teach himself and pick up on it.

hey so why does dark pit hate the name pittoo

i’m sure the basics of this are fairly self explanatory but it bares mentioning either way ! his hatred for the nickname is purely because of it’s meaning, pit two, and it’s made even worse in a couple other counties spellings, pit 2 ? pit ii ? how to completely erase any individuality.

for him his name is pit, not pittoo, not dark pit, just pit, he may be a clone albeit with distinct changes from his original likeness but he’s still his own being and deserves to be treated like one. he is not palutena’s pet dog or a being bound by duty like somebody else he knows, he has his own wants and his own goals.

the main thing about the name pittoo that ticks him off is because no matter how many times he tells pit and palutena to stop addressing him by it, they don’t. they don’t stop and think about how it may upset him and it’s annoying. it’s dysphoria inducing because this being that’s confident in himself and his existence is frequently reminded he’s nothing more than a second in others perception, he’s not even important enough to have right to his own name, he was deemed dark pit by somebody else the second he came into being.

i really REALLY want threads with anyone really but namely pit’s and palutena’s where he gets to express this in deeper communication than just ‘ don’t call me that ’, if they must insist on using nicknames he has others he doesn’t mind, but pittoo is off limits. period.

i also rly want ship threads or platonic soulmate threads where the other like...... gives him a new name all his own ? something special that gives him his own identity, maybe they even spend a while thinking it over together and come up with one as a team. that would be fucking adorable
