💔Urgent Appeal for My Father's Life💔

I never imagined that I would have to write these words and beg for help to save my father's life.

My father suffered a severe head injury after a nearby bombardment. Since that day, his condition has been extremely critical, and sadly, it continues to deteriorate day after day. Doctors have stressed that he urgently needs surgery as soon as possible to prevent further complications and give him a chance to survive and recover.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of many compassionate people, we have been able to collect part of the required amount. However, we still have $462 remaining, and we must raise it as quickly as possible before it is too late.

Every day that passes without the surgery puts my father in greater danger. Watching him suffer while being unable to help him is a pain beyond words. We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do this alone.

I don't like smugly saying I Told You So because despite being ardent and vocal and pushing for strategies to mitigate climate change, my people are still dying. The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins First Nation, for the colonizers) fled on boats while the trees next to their houses burned. Thunder Bay is full of displaced Indigenous peoples trying to breathe with air full of ash. Gayaashki-zaagiing Anishinaabeg (Gull Bay First Nation, again, for You Folks) peoples were ordered to evacuate in the middle of the night and were just told there are no accommodations for them, now that they've escaped. Thousands of people scrambling for protection and safety, while a bunch of white colonizers complain about the smell of smoke.

None of this is new. It's all a very old song.

But, as my mother would say, the drums will get louder and louder until you listen.

I work with kids and sometimes we have to do safety lessons with them about like, not telling strangers on the internet your home address or something. And sometimes the kids wont understand why, so you have to impart upon them that, well, some adults want to hurt children. And thats kind of difficult to do, because you have to beat around the bush, both because you dont want to scare them (while still making them understand how serious it is) and because you might lose your job if you explain it too straight forward.

Luckily, for some reason, the villain of one of the most popular franchises with children for the last 10 years happens to be a serial child murderer. So when a kid asks why they shouldnt trust strangers, instead of hand wringing and humhawing my answer out, I can just say "we dont always know when a strange adult has good intentions with children, or when they are William Afton."

He took up too much of my time showing me a product I'd feigned mild interest in to get him to stop talking about getting accused of inappropriate behavior at work. When we finally disengaged, he spent 10 minutes trying to catch my eye again. When he failed, he left.

There's this new breed of customer who insists on trying to incite political conversation through their clothing and, when that doesnt work, their snide little comments. If I owned my own business, maybe I would have given the guy the fight he wanted. But I work for a corporation and I love paying my bills so I deescalated.

Hi guys, I'm in a tough spot and hoping for a miracle.

Tonight, my mom's AC unit completely died. Because of her disabilities, she is extremely temperature-sensitive. The heat is quickly becoming unsafe for her. At the moment, I am a full-time trade school student living on a meager stipend, and between that and her disability benefits, we do not have the funds to buy a new unit or pay for repairs at the moment.
