Can everyone please reblog this and tag it with your hogwarts house and your ilvermorny house? I want to see if there are correlations.

Calling all international HP fans. What names did they change in your books, I want to collect them. My friend is reading them in Portuguese and its kind of awesome. Now im obsessed.
Let me collect a few Hungarian ones because I don’t think you have a lot of them :) (and sorry for my english) - first of all, Hogwarts is Roxfort in Hungarian, and Hogsmeade is Roxmorts (I have no idea why, maybe because these are easier to pronounce for us) - Snape: Perselus Piton ( ”piton” means python in english) - McGonagall: Minerva McGalagony ( “galagony(a)” means hawthorn) - Tom Marvolo Riddle: Tom Rowle Denem (so it equals “nevem Voldemort” if you separate the w into v-s, and this means “my name is Voldemort”) - Horace Slughorn: Horatius Lumpsluck - Fugde: Cornelius Caramel - Quirell: Mógus professzor - Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody: Alastor “Rémszem” Mordon (”szem” means eye, “rém” or “rémisztő” is something very scary) - Sprout: Pomona Bimba (”bimbó” means bud) - instead of Crouch, the name is Kupor (”kuporogni” means to crouch) - Crabble and Goyle are Crack és Monstro (we use the world ”monstrum” for really big things in a negative way) And a little bit different thing: - mirror of Erised: Edevis tükre (mirror of Edevis) which says “Edevis amen ahze erkyt docr amen”, backwards: “Nema rcod tykre ezha nema sivede” in correct Hungarian: “Nem arcod türke ez, hanem szívedé” which roughly translates to “It’s not the mirror of your face, but your heart’s”. That’s all I could suddenly think of. Overall I love the Hungarian translations :)
