Ranveer Singh Refuses To Fit Into ‘Expectations Or Molds Of Looking And Dressing’

Ranveer Singh’s bold and eccentric looks have always led to controversies and trolls on social media. The actor who is not afraid of the fashion police recently made a buzz in the media when he wore a ‘condom looking’ outfit to Shahid Kapoor’s pre-birthday bash. 

“I just decided to wear and do what I want and make the choices of clothes that I want to wear that make me happy...free and liberated from critiques and judgments. When I finally started dressing for myself is when I started being perceived as one who stands out,” Ranveer said.

“It feels wonderful… it’s not by intent or by design… it just happened that a couple of years into show business, I decided I’m not going to try and make an attempt…a futile attempt to sort of fit into some kind of expectations or molds of looking or dressing,” he added.

Talking about the popular Ram Leela mustache, the 31 year old actor said, “I never imagined my style will be so widely imitated, but it’s a good place to be. I am very happy about it”. The Bajirao Mastani actor is now looking forward to the production of his upcoming film Padmavati.

Huma Qureshi recently opened up regarding the role of women in Indian cinema and the ongoing change in the industry. According to her, the role of women in Indian films is undergoing a lot of change in today's times, be it on or off screen.

Reviving memories about women’s role in Indian film industry during her time, she said "Back in the days there were very few women seen behind the big screen or in the technical side be it with editing, lighting, sound mixing etc. But today slowly that number is growing.” 

"More women in workplace has made the work environment more holistic more equitable. And all this reflects in our stories, our representation of women characters in our movies. I am very honored to be talking about women at such a prestigious forum. I would want to work towards a more equitable world for all of us," she added.

Pooja Bhatt on her 90 days of sobriety and the shameful habit of alcoholism

“I’m celebrating my 90 days of sobriety. I quit drinking because I thought somewhere I had fallen in that trap of addiction myself and the only way to get out of it was to acknowledge it to myself”

Pooja had earlier revealed about that phase in her life when she was addicted to alcohol and how shameful that habit is. The 45 year old actress decided to quit drinking on a day when all her friends had invited her for a party with drinks. Talking about the initial steps to quit alcoholism, the actress said, “Acknowledging the fact that you are an alcoholic is already winning half the battle against this shameful habit”.

“We here try to brush things under the carpet. People put up this facade that they are under control by saying things like ‘It’s socially acceptable’, ‘I am not that drunk’,” she added.

The actress seemed to have learned a lot from her father’s (Mahesh Bhatt) bitter experiences and how he has quit alcohol since 28 years. Pooja also openly discussed how good she felt about herself after she quit drinking liquor. 

“It was Christmas when I finally decide to pull the plug. I sat with my four cats, put my phone on the silent mode, made myself dinner, toasted myself with a glass of water and went to bed.I survived it. And I realized that this is the best gift I could ever give to myself. Soon, I survived the New Year also. Yes, it was tough. And what is also tough is explaining people why you are not drinking, especially on New Year’s Eve,” she said while speaking at the SHIFT series.

Alia Reveals Recently Learnt Make-up Techniques, Her Daily Workout And Handbag Essentials

Alia Bhatt revealed some of her top make up techniques and beauty secrets in a chat with India Today, after she slayed the rustic look in a Namrata Joshipura attire for Maybelline New York show at the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week (Autumn- Winter 2017) in Delhi.

Talking about that one make up tip that acts as a ‘pick-me-up’ secret, she said “I think a pop lip color always adds anything to your outfit/ to your look or face. Even if its a day, you can just cover up your eyes with a sun-glass but a lip color will always do something for you.”

Twinkle Khanna Opens Up On Facing Sexual Harassment At Work Place

Actress-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna revealed of being sexually harassed at workplace. The star wife opened up regarding the incident in a column in The Times Of India. 

Recollecting the incident, she said "Have any frogs tried to catch me between their webbed feet? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. A few years ago, a message on my phone reduced me to tears in the car. I had reached breaking point after months of suggestive messages from a wealthy, powerful client that I had been pretending not to understand because all I wanted to do was to complete the project in a professional manner. And so I ended up as a statistic - the 38% of women who faced sexual harassment at work, according to a survey done by the Indian National Bar association." 

"I am a fairly assertive woman, and married to a man who onscreen punches holes in walls with his bare fists and yet I haven’t been spared, so I shudder to think about what happens to the vast majority of working women,” she added.

The 43 year old actress also commented on the TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar controversy and wrote, “Sexy' is an acceptable compliment within a work environment only if she is a stripper and you are her pimp trying to boost her confidence before she takes the stage."
