Man, this Expie is better than Leonardo da Vinci.
My first time making an animation
"Welcome, my esteemed colleagues and sketchy associates - let me ask you - what year is it?"
"That's right! It's the year <datacorrupted>!! We here at The Company have no use for antiquated prison systems. Our Sawians are not human prisoners owed the dignity of a private cell or time associating with their fellows in large, unsecured cafeterias. Plus, as we continue to develop new xenotypes of Sawians, the security risk only grows, especially if they interact."
"Behold! Feast your eyes on my cell! The Cell of the Future! An all-in-one holding cell and testing chamber, designed in such a way that its occupants never have to leave! Ever!"
"It can comfortably fit up to two Sawians at a time - but believe me, I've crowded in WAY more before they started dying!" ------------------------------------------ This idea has been tormenting me for so long that I actually considered buying a Photoshop subscription to bring it to life. I also tried Canva and GIMP, but I can't make heads or tails of those tools. So, stingy as I am, I decided to just thug it out with my good ol' pal MsPaint.
Please let me know what you think! What should be added/edits you'd make. I'd love to hear feedback. Seriously, spent like two hours on this lol. -------------------------------------- Annotations:
Cell light. Operates on a 12hr/12hr clock, but can be manipulated remotely and via the control screen (see 10.) Otherwise, it turns on and stays lit for 12 hours before turning off and staying dark for 12 hours, regardless of whether the Sawians occupying the cell are awake or not.
Vapor showerhead. Similar to what the Drop Pods already come equipped with. Can be controlled remotely and via the control screen (see 10.) Otherwise, it is manually-activated via touch by the occupying Sawians desiring to clean themselves. Can only be activated once per 24-hour period. Keep in mind that the showerhead can dispense ALL KINDS of vaporized liquids. Antiseptic water is just the default.
High-flow air vents constantly supply the otherwise air-tight cell with a fresh air mix (Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon, etc.) Another vent is tuned to safely remove CO2 and any other airborne elements. Both vents can be controlled remotely and via the control screen (see 10.) Naturally, these vents can dispense/remove ALL KINDS of gases from the cell's environment.
Fish-eye camera lens capable of recording the entirety of the cell at all times. Can be controlled...yadda yadda. An alarm sounds if the camera is damaged in any way, and the cell is pumped with nerve gas.
Toilet. Fully capable of removing all types of liquid and solid waste. Only flushes when the lid is closed and locked, can not be opened while in operation. Flushing is limited to 6 times per 12-hour period, with the count resetting with every lapse.
Sink inlaid into the rubber floor. Activated via touch by the cell's occupant. Water allotment is limited to 2L / 12-hour period. Its water supply can be replaced with ANY LIQUID.
Food dispenser, loaded with dog kibble by default, but can be loaded with ANY KIND of solid food. Drops into a tray inlaid in the rubber floor. Dispensed food is limited to 10kg / 24-hour period. The food dispenser can only be controlled remotely or via the control screen, since Sawians can't be trusted to do this on their own.
Rubber flooring. Earlier prototypes included rubber-matted bunks, but these were discarded. There is a closed circuit inlaid just beneath the rubber surface. If the circuit is damaged in any way (like from Sawian claws), an alarm sounds, and the cell will be pumped with nerve gas. A drain for liquid waste sits in the center of the cell. Another alarm will trip if the drain is tampered with, and the cell will be pumped with nerve gas.
A soundproofed door of solid steel no less than four centimeters thick. Original blueprints called for Tungsten, but that can get expensive quickly. The door slides upward via electromagnets and is assisted by hydraulics. In the event of a blackout, both of these systems are designed to fail immediately and keep the door closed via weight.
The Control Screen. Displaying all information related to the cell's occupant(s), as well as the camera's operation. Most systems can also be accessed, viewed, and controlled via this screen as well.
Noticing that a lot of analog horror/analog horror adjacent things are very.. meaty.
Vita Carnis is living meat, the Mystery Flesh Pit is bigass living meat, Midwest Angelica is kicked off by a massive clump of living meat crashing into earth and subsequently gathering biomass (meat) from living things on earth, Gemini Home Entertainment features its own fair share of meat (the “gardens” are a prime example of this, as are the root silhouettes left behind by victims of DRD, and that one video about artificial replacement meat speaks for itself..
Check out Happy Meat Farms next
describing all my fave analog horrors but really badly

Local58 - moon will kill you. Also don’t watch the news
White Stag Education - therians if they were evil
Happy Meat Farms - animal testing but worse somehow
Smile Tapes - don’t do drugs kids
The Man In The Suit - radioactive fursuit
Under the thousand-odd eyes from about a hundred-odd senior Magos, their Skitarrii guards, and hundreds of Servo-skulls floating around a forgeworld's command shrine, where a precious few non-Mechanicus are allowed to step foot in, Gunner Ferik Jurgen digs around in his webbing pouches for an STC data fragment. He pulls something out, and the crowd holds bated breath in augmetic lungs. Those that still had lungs, anyway.
It's a sandwich wrapped in paper, he puts it back. "Swore it was here somewhere..." The Arch Magos is this close to having the man systematically dissassembled until the fragment is found.
After an agonizing two minutes, the tiny, ancient-looking data chip is pulled out and snatched from Jurgen's fingers by a Servo-skull acting with all the religious reverence of a juvie snatching a treat. I was reminded of a swarm of insects as the entire theatre erupted into a storm of binaric chirrups and buzzing upon sight of the artifact.
"The information contained on this fragment is - undefined - priceless. Clarification: A price can not be assigned to its contents." The Arch Magos drones, their voice like church bells across the theatre, yet each word had a moment's pause between each other. "Addendum 2, a price can be assigned to its contents, but it is a price measured in planets. The Mecanicus is in your debt, [Cain, Ciaphas]. State your wish (Figurative) and we will fulfill it to the best of our ability."
"What do you get a man who has everything? Duty is its own reward, after all." I was laying on the 'humble soldier' act with a trowel, and judging by the binaric squaks that followed, the cogboys ate it up just as well as the civillian press does. I say with zero hyperbole that people would kill to be in my position right now. Everybody's heard of those two Guardsmen who got their own private planets because they found an STC for...a really good knife for the Astartes, or something. The story seems to change every time I hear it.
Yet also, I really couldn't think of anything. I do have everything. A cushy position on the Lord General's staff, retirement on Perlia all lined-up. Retreiving this STC wasn't even the top 5 of most dangerous or bowel-clenching assignments I've ever been on, so it didn't leave me aching for an early retirement. I raised my hands to quiet the theatre, and to my surprise most of the Magos actually did.
"You owe me a favor, that's the way I see it. Unless you know of a way to defeat all of The Emperor's enemies for good and have humanity flourish forever, I'd like to keep this favor in my back pocket, if you don't mind." The Arch Magos tilted their massive, augmented form to the side, and began to chirrup to their immedate subordinates.
"[CONFIRMED], Current Objective: Find a way to defeat all of [The Emperor] - Clarrification: - The Omnissiah's enemies for good - Clarrification: [for good] also means forever - and have humanity flourish forever. Thank you, [Cain, Ciaphas], please leave us to fulfill your request."
Frak, there goes the literal opportunity of a lifetime. If those servo-skulls were broadcasting, then I'm never hearing the end of this.
I wonder what would happen if Ciaphas Cain ever found an STC. More fuel to the fire of his undeserved reputation, I'm sure, only this time to the Cult Mechanicus.
Ciaphas Cain gives an STC fragment to Jurgen for safekeeping. He keeps it in his webbing, right between a thermos of Tanna and a greasy brown bag of unidentifiable dried meat.
Lambly prefers to nurture life than to fight but they always make do.

I've recently started reading books about Cain.🥸 I really like the dynamic between him and Jurgen

aloof highmate (how is that a thing?)
I feel like Highmates could totally feel the full spectrum of emotions as baseliners. Except maybe murderously. So they're kind, but can also be disinterested or distant
does this count? did I win?
"I might go down, but I won't go down alone."
First time encountering the Salad. Big grandpappy Salad.
It bit my fuckin' leg off and I fell 100 meters.
It was at that point that I decided to OD on heroin, painkillers, and procoagulant.
My last meal was a steak and a jar of lemonade, not bad.
Dare i say Cain and Jurgen have a queerplatonic friendship
‘You’re a good man, commissar,’ he said. Which just goes to show what an appalling judge of character he was.
I just started the Ciaphas Cain series and it's delightful.
