being nonbinary is so weird. like i know im a genderqueer fag who is gnc but most of the time people look at me and go "girl" or "dyke" and im going to do nothing to change that as its not really my problem. the only way to change that is to either exhaust myself by explaining what nonbinary means to hundreds of ignorant cis people #servicejob or get on hormones to shove myself into the "guy" box in the eyes of other people which is also wrong because i wouldn't be doing it for myself. im just letting people be wrong or confused and making my peace with it at this point and i would also rather get read as a woman anyway.

what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.

i had a house centipede in the tub right before i was going to take a shower. it was so beautiful. really gorgeous long antennae (?) on its rump like. it looked like a flower. have you ever noticed they have stripes? thats my favorite feature of them.

that got me thinking about the people who kill bugs. imagine youre that small and you fell into a valley that you cant climb out of because the surface is too smooth and you have nothing to grab onto. imagine how helpless you would feel. now would you rather be captured and released or drowned or squashed.

why inflict lethal violence on something that small just because it *could* bite you. i genuinely believe if you are afraid of bugs you need to learn about them and get over that fear. i was afraid of bugs for the longest time and yeah its kind of annoying when theyre in your room or bathroom and on the ceiling and flying around but why kill what you dont understand. desensitize and learn
