Fooshon is Back!

Calling from my little room in London, I have returned to my fooshon blog.

Let's catch up!

I graduated from Chelsea College of Arts last summer and am now working as an assistant textile print designer. hehe.

This little space was built for me to document all the collections I love and the fashion history I was absorbing.

While I am building my own fashion space irl, I need to relearn the wisdom of fashion, art, history and culture otb (on the blog?).

Styled over a white shirt with removable black sleeves, this jacket is a reproduction of the old adjustable dress forms. Through the next 20 years, dress forms become a huge source of inspiration for Martin Margiela

Margiela aw1989 “broken plate vest”

There is no definitive answer or explanation to the meaning behind this piece, leaving it to be heavily debated and discussed throughout the fashion industry. The concept can be answered if the plate was intentionally broken or found broken. If the plate was found broken and then repurposed into a vest, this could suggest that the piece symbolises that anything is useable and become artisanal fashion, as long as you have perspective. However, if the plates were bought and then intentionally broken to make the vest, then you could suggest that the piece is illustrating that destruction is necessary in order to bring out a new and beautiful form. No matter your interpretation, we can all agree how beautiful and profound this piece is and because of that it made Martin Margiela the first recipient of the ANDEM award

I love how the simplistic jumper and skirt has been turned on its head. The layering of the sheer tulle, not only creates volume but makes layers of colours and shades. The cosy jumper and cloud of tulle also certainly makes this look a comfy one which is “incredibly important” to Goddard in this collection xoxo
