Hi, lovelies! FHS Interact, here! Welcome to our club. We hope you stay with us throughout the year and become more involved! You'll be able to build stronger bonds with those that share your passion for community service!

Relay for Life

WOW HELLO! Who loves Guardians of the Galaxy?! (yup yup baby groot is the best:) What if I told you that YOU could be part of GUARDIANS OF INTERACT?! (yes yes) In just about a month, our Interact club will be participating in Relay for Life of Pleasanton as the team 'Guardians of Interact.' Relay for Life is a 24 hour event that brings together more than 3.5 million people across the country each year to join the fight against cancer and support the American Cancer Society.      That's right, we'll be having an Interact sleepover (minus the sleep) for a great cause! During the event, we'll be walking around, enjoying music & games, and hanging out with a great community of people, all while making a difference in the fight against cancer. (plus playing card games & making giant bubbles @ 4am:) Each of you reading this post will have the opportunity to join the incredible fight against this disease for any loved ones who have been affected by cancer and help fundraise as a proud Interactor! This event is one of the highlights of each Interact year, so don't miss out! 

Event details are below: -Date: Sat, July 18th - Sun, July 19th (9am-9am) -Location: Pleasanton Middle School, 5001 Case Ave., Pleasanton -The goal is $100 per member--think of what that can add up to! Plus, you'll get a free shirt if you raise the money! We'll be having fundraisers together until the event such as lemonade stands, but try to see how much you can raise on your own as well!

All You Need is Love

Area 3’s annual Charity Dinner: All You Need is Love is right around the corner and for only $14, you can buy a ticket to a night of jam-packed fun, talent, and deliciousness AND help Kenyan families through our International Project, Home Sweet Home.

Whew that was one long sentence. What: This year’s Charity Dinner’s theme is LOVE. Why? Because we’re sure you will LOVE the 4-course meal, LOVE the talented Interactors you’ll watch on stage, LOVE the raffle items, and LOVE spending a beautiful night with other Interactors as LOVEly as you. When: Friday, March 13th. 6:30PM-9PM

Where: Veteran’s Hall, Pleasanton (Downtown P-Town) How: Tickets are selling fast for Area 3 members, so purchase yours for $14 from any officer ASAP! If you’re from out of the area and happened to stumble upon our page, here’s a warm hug from Foothill Interact (*hug*). You, my friend, can order a ticket at the door via an online form soon to be posted by our beloved Area Director on Febuary 28th. So be on the lookout for that, because out-of-area tickets for these kind of events sell faster than flat-screen TVs do on Black Friday (trust me - experienced ticket-snatcher here). Why: Why you should go? Um, is this even a question? Attire: Casual, 60's Theme. Lacking hippie essentials? Come to AVHS and FHS's Tie-dying event on March 7th from 2-4PM at Amador Park. WE DAY

ATTENTION ALL FOOTHILL INTERACTORS: You are all so very lucky to have a chance to attend WE DAY on 2/25. Aaand if you don't know what We Day is, you are missing out, my friend.

Here's a short explanation from their website: "An annual series of stadium-sized events, We Day brings together world-renowned speakers and performers—from Malala Yousafzai and Martin Sheen to Demi Lovato—with tens of thousands of youth to kick-start a year of action through We Act. You can’t buy a ticket to We Day—you earn it by taking on one local and one global action."

PAJAMA DRIVE UNTIL THIS FRIDAY 12/19

~Get ready for COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUBS UNITE--AVENGERS EDITION!~ That's right--in the season of giving, Interact and other service clubs such as NHS & CSF will be collaborating to hold a PAJAMA DRIVE until this Friday (12/19). All of the pajamas will be going to foster children in need as part of Interact's Foster Children's Christmas Party on the 20th. Donations can dropped off in Ms. Jurich's room (B-8) or given to any Interact officer! -Sizes needed: 0-24 months, 2T/2, and Size 8 to XXL adult

Don't hesitate to join this awesome event! The sizes may look confusing but all of the pajama tags in the kids section at Walmart,etc. have the sizes on them and were only $4-$7 dollars each! That could be the cost of a lunch at In-n-Out for you but invaluable to someone who needs it. So the next time you're at the store, head over to the clothing section and see if you can pick something up- it'll truly make a difference in somebody's life :)

GET IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT! Have a fantastic time decorating rooms, face painting, baking and serving cookies, making crafts, and more!

Interact Meeting TOMORROW (Tuesday 11/3) in the MPR!!

We want to see all your Interact Spirit tomorrow for OHOA WEEK! Don't forget tomorrow is Ordinary Acts of Service Day! Remember that small actions can make a big impact--go out and give a compliment, hug, or a baby penguin :) All of these things will help brighten up someone's day for sure :D

OHOA WEEK

OHOA Week is next week SO GET PUMPED! 

-We will have more reminders and updates as we approach the glorious week full of Interact spirit, so don't worry about remembering each theme!

-As part of OHOA week: next Saturday, we (Area 3) will be having a service event with Areas 1&2 where we will be making Food/Education/Fellowship Kits for people in need. This event includes activities such as donating school supplies (ie: books, pencils..), making friendship bracelets/cards, and etc. Time/location= TBA but more details will come out soon!

FLC Frequently Asked Questions

2014's Fall Leadership Conference is right around the corner! For those of you who haven't been to FLC before or are curious about the carpool arrangements this year, here:

1. When will we get our shirts? You can get your shirts Friday, 9/26 either during lunch in front of the library or after school that day in the senior quad.  2. I filled out the carpool form! How am I getting to FLC???! Check [HERE]. Please talk with your carpool especially if you do not know them! Get to know them because you'll be spending at least one hour with these lovely people. 3. Where will we meet on Sunday morning before we all head to FLC? If you are on the Carpool list, we will be meeting at the Pleasanton Tennis Park at 6:45am that morning. It's crucial you get there on time because your ride will be counting on you. When you show up to the tennis park, Angela will give you a fabulous gift also known as the wristband. 4. What is the wristband? Basically your ticket into the FLC venue. Do not lose it! 5. If I'm going to be riding solo with my parents, how do I get my wristband?  You'll be getting your wristband after school on Friday, but make sure that you have already talked to Angela about it!  6. I forgot to or wasn't able to get a shirt during lunch and after school on Friday. How do I get my shirt before FLC?  We will have your shirts at the Tennis Park on Sunday morning, so find us there whether you are or are not getting or giving a ride.  7. I don't have a ride home...what do I do?

Unfortunately, we did not have enough driver volunteers to take people home, so it's on you! Talk to your carpools. Talk to your parents. Talk to friends.

FHS Interact- Picnic in the Quad

Hello amigos! Foothill Interact will be hosting a picnic in the quad for y'all to answer any questions about FLC & collect money from all of you who already registered. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends, a towel, and some food to add to the wonderful company of foothill interactors.

Fellow Interactors of Foothill High School! As a member of Foothill Interact, you too are apart of Area 3 of District 5170, therefore you are apart of the STELLAR STARFISH OF THE GALAXY as well.

We Stellar Starfish are strong. We Stellar Starfish are marvelous. And we must demonstrate how truly magnificent Area 3 is to the galaxy at this month's Fall Leadership Conference to the other 3,000 Interactors we will meet. So what better way to showcase our epicness and shine bright like a starfish than to wear these star-studded shirts created by the incredibly talented Christine Deng (also s/o to Christine Deng, you the real MVP)? The left image will be the front of the shirt, the right the back (click to enlarge).

Each shirt costs only $10. ONLY TEN DOLLARS (that's twenty dollars cheaper than that flimsy Little Mermaid shirt you can get at the Disney Store)!!! That is if you order and turn in your money before this Friday, September 12th at 11:59 PM. Starting Saturday, September 13th at 12:00 AM, shirts will cost $12 each (there goes that chipotle chicken mcwrap you could've gotten at McDonalds).

Moral of this story post? Order your T-Shirts here for future Interact events, such as FLC, and turn in your money AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And when I say ASAP, I mean now. Pronto. Ahora mismo. That Lean Cuisine meal can wait for later, okay? Okay. 

If you've made it through this entire post, thanks a bunch. You the second MVP (sorry, Christine Deng is still the first because she designed such amazing t-shirts). I also sincerely apologize for the amount of annoying Marvel/GOTG references you just came across in the last 2 minutes.
