As they made their way, Abaddon kept thinking about the circumstances surrounding his current situation. The dark portal he went through didn't seem like the work of anyone from the Dire or Radiant factions, so a third party must have been involved. If that was so, what was their objective? And what exactly did travelling through that portal do? Such questions plagued the dark lord's mind as he kept moving forward to House Avernus.
As he was thinking, Abaddon's demon companion was demonstrating extreme curiosity towards his personage. Whether it be to find out a weakness, or to try and break the inmutable silence that was characterizing their journey, it all seemed irrelevant to him, thinking about what happened was, at that point in time, his greatest priority.
Abaddon tried sorting his thoughts one last time, as if hoping to get a different answer through continuous repetition. But he couldn't draw a conclusion, as he still didn't know exactly what happened.
Finally giving up on that for the time being, Abaddon was met with another inquiry by the curious demon. With nothing else to do, and them still being far away from their objective, he decided to humor his companion's request. Surely it would do no harm to let him know.
"So you want to know...about the Lord of Avernus..."
This was the first time Abaddon ever felt like talking about himself. But a lack of experience in discourse was no problem to him.
"I alone hold the righteous name of Abaddon, Lord of House Avernus, home to the ancestral Black Mist. Ours is a House of noble warriors who protect the customs of our sacred lands, united by our communion with the ancestral energies of the world."
That wasn't the only reason, Abaddon thought to himself, as only he knew the whole truth about House Avernus and the Black Mist. And he intended to keep that a secret.
Manifesting his mist sword, Abaddon continued his narration.
"I am the one chosen to be Lord of the House, and Head Commander of our military forces, as well as a representative in the Avernus Council."
He made sure not to let out any details in his description, at least not details that mattered.
"As for what I am...that is something only I know" he said as he took his sword, and threw it to the ground beneath him, the blade piercing through the soft earth, an otherwordly chill coming out of it and spreading around the ground.
"But what I can tell you...is that the coils of Life and Death are mine to control".
