A couple uv resin experiments with various levels of success and cool factor. Some good work but also really sad over wasted materials
Some uv resin necklace charms
Silvery Starburst holographic Chunky glitter
And Black hexagon holographic glitter
I know there is an imperfection In the black one but I love that cunky glitter

Name change alert. Dumb ass dice was a pretty solid place holder but due to continued comments I have decided to change my name to "forbidden candy dice.". You animals know who you are
Dye AND mold test "Coffee"
I am a little undecided about the squish molds I made. When I pulled them out they looked ROUGH, but with a polish job they came out looking pretty okay. It may have been a result of my pot hvaung a bad safety valve, but if my experience with resin has taught me anything it's that delicate silicone will rip if given the chance. Once I get that new valve I'll be doing another test.
Also the platform is made from the same resin and I might include it as a free extra in sets
My first set from my new molds! Mistakes were made with this casting as I will explain
-I used water to measure the resin needed to fill the molds, which I then neglected to dry out. The water caused voids and weaknesses in the top part of the mold
-speaking of the tops, the voids you see were caused by not making enough resin to fill the molds. I tried cold casting again, but fine glitter is very different from Chunky glitter and requires a different mixing ratio
Otherwise the molds worked beautifully. I do need a different safety release valve because the one I have is overly sensitive and does not maintain pressure but otherwise I am pleased with the process.
WHAT'S IN THE POT? WHAT'S IN THE POT?!
Cold casting Sulyn "Party blend" Red glitter
Finally got two of my most important pieces of equipment, the pressure pot and the air compressor.
I plan on casting tiny dice sets as well
It's been slow going getting all the things I need but I do have some glow in the dark powder pigment and a whole bunch of new dyes to work with when they do
