I’m still thinking a lot about cecilos and I think the reason they feel so equal, despite it all starting with ’love at first sight’ and Cecil having all kinds of ideas about Carlos without really knowing him, is that he never initiated anything.

He gushed and didn’t hide how he felt in their conversations, even when he thought Carlos wasn’t listening to his show (how would he avoid it, Cecil?!), but he didn’t push for anything.

He waited for Carlos to call for ‘personal reasons’, Carlos initiated their first kiss, Carlos asked if they should move in together. He even left it up to Carlos whether they should live in Night Vale at all, despite how much the town is part of him.

Cecil has a lot of power, especially of persuasion, but he never uses it in his important relationship decisions and I think that’s really neat.

a third eye (also known as the mind’s eye) is a concept important to many eastern religions (such as hinduism, buddhism,  taoism, etc) that has been absolutely butchered to death by western cultures. its details vary culturally, but the general gist of it that to open ones third eye is to enlighten yourself and perceive a higher plane of existence. for hinduism, it is strongly associated with shiva.

bindis are worn to symbolize one’s third eye. 

the point im rly trying to make is its a sacred concept and its a little disheartening to see it butchered in fan art for every single Man Has Supernatural Abilities fandom. it contributes to the constant degradation and ridicule eastern religions face from white people
