@nataliasafran TU for the awesome shoutout! U look gorg in your feature on vaunte.com today!!! Xo
I just love these! In his project ‘Art x Smart’ Korean illustrator Kim Dong-Kyu updated paintings by Van Gogh, Picasso, Chagall or Munch with the latest achievements of our modern time. I think the Munch is my fav. What's yours?
Simply. Beautiful.
In the series “Emptied Gestures,” artist Heather Hansen utilizes her own body movement to create large charcoal paintings. Like finger painting on a grander scale, this series combines visual art and dance as a way to “download movement directly onto paper.” It's breathtaking how the artist literally commits her whole self to this expression and how her body becomes one with the art.
Naeem Khan always gets it right. Loving these five gowns from fall show that are hitting the stores now. Bring on the holidays!
Loving these Thom Browne fall looks. Anyone know where to get them?

The Row is really the only brand I can stomach that has come from celebrities-turned-designers, for the reason that the Olsen twins seem truly passionate about what they put out (using only the highest quality materials), as well as being knowledgeable about how the fashion industry actually works. This season was nothing less than outstanding; the young designer duo broke through their comfort zone of the usual upper-class New York City chic and brought something new to the table. Spectators were treated to the styles made for the fashion conscious woman traveling the world, inspired by different rich cultures – giving off a feel of empowerment. It began with draped dresses of light, airy fabrics on a palette of navy and burnt orange, almost sheer below knee length dresses were next with embroidery detailing of leaves, to go onto well-structured dresses with geometric patterns, ending with chunky knits and a darker colour scheme. Headwear played a big part of the collection, some with streaming fabric that hit the floor, others with a black birdcage type veil but my favorite part of the show were the loafers, bringing us back to the Olsen’s aesthetic of laid-back luxury. Way to go girls. Can't wait to wear it all!
"Hmm..." my one-word description.
“Beauty.” That was Oscar de la Renta’s own one-word description of his Spring 2014 collection, solicited backstage pre-show last night. And that's what I usually LOVE about his dresses. Oscar makes a woman out of the wearer and nothing makes me feel more beautiful than when I wear one of his dresses. But this collection fell flat for me; it lacked a strong point of view about beauty and taken as a whole, the collection seemed confused. Most surprising for me? (especially as one of Oscar's biggest fans): not one look grabbed me as - o.m.g. - I've - got - to - have - that - gorgeous.
I’m really diggin’ Rag and Bone’s spring 2014 collection - and not just because it’s clearly all about Nineties minimalism - but because David Neville and Marcus Wainwright are taking the brand to new, more sophisticated places (and customers!) Here are three of my favorite looks from their New York Fashion Week presentation.
Hometown Hero Gregory Parkinson's Sweet Looks for Spring 2014
Eschewing gowns this season, Gregory Parkinson went the casual-luxury route, layering delicate pastel laces over floral or solid silks to form chic short-sleeve tops and long or longish skirts. But it was the hand-painted cashmere sweaters that made these looks fresher and more modern than ever. It's from a new knitwear collaboration with Parker Blue to be called GP Blue. Can't wait to see these on all the lovely LA ladies next spring!
No wonder they're CDFA Vogue/Fashion Fund Finalists
Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin generated plenty of buzz after their beautiful and feminine presentation for Tome at New York Fashion Week last week. They were inspired by Ana Mendieta, a Cuban-American artist who, as a pagan, immersed herself in the elements by creating art carved from the earth. This was the starting point for the designers’ techniques. For example, they shredded traditional tweed into strips and reconstructed it into a beautiful top, and they laid python skin over a tulle skirt.
Cushie et Ochs nails it.
It was clear that Carlie Cushnie and Michelle Ochs entered more sensual territory with their Spring 2014 collection. But their careful addition of dominatrix elements never once compromised the wearibility and femininity of their dresses. It was pretty brilliant. But the manicures intrigued me most: to emulate brass knuckles, manicurist Patricia Yankee worked with China Glaze products. The nail was shaped to a sharp point and was layered with milky white shades of Dandy Lyin’ Around and Moonlight. Before the tip of the nail, a brass cuff was wrapped at the top as if the nail was wearing a ring.

Jason Wu show on Mercer St. last night
After two seasons of a not so subtle homage to Helmut Newton, Jason Wu was wise to let the air in and the seams out in his Spring 2014 collection shown last night at New York Fashion Week. It felt lighter and more genuine to the innate prettiness on which Wu leapt to fame. He didn't push the envelope design-wise, but I loved the sophisticated color palate and all the tone-on-tone and textured neutrals. Plus, the show produced by Alexandre de Betak and team was pure perfection. Here are some of my favorite looks that walked last night.

Wow. I'm now obsessed. I wanted almost EVERY ONE of Marissa Webb's looks that walked the runway yesterday at #nyfw. Now in her third season, Marissa Webb sent out a tight lineup of great clothes for real life, with each item able to stand on its own. Which look do you like best?
