Forever Darling V
Forever Darling V is coming together and in a hurry! I begin planning the show right after Forever Darling IV in September of 2011, which was a huge success! We were able to raise $3000 for Denver Design Incubator and had over 500 people there!
As much as I wanted a break I decided I needed to quickly start on Forever Darling V but this time go even BIGGER! I thought why not have a sort of Project Runway reunion Forever Darling show. I really missed my friends and I really wanted to show everyone how talented many of them are with out the demands from all the crazy challenges, deadlines and pressure! Many of the designers that are showing at Forever Darling V I got to know extremely well, like how they take their coffee well. These designers may have not made it to the top 3, but I realized by hanging out with them over 18 hrs a day just how extremely talented they were and that I needed to give them a chance to show everyone just how talented they really are, which is where Forever Darling V came about.
Denver Art Museum
The great thing about all of this is The Denver Art Museum is partnering with Forever Darling V to have an amazing night of fashion.
YSL
Most of you might know that The Denver Art Museum will be the only one in the US showing the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit, which is super exciting for Denver! For Forever Darling V all 8 Project Runway Designers will be showing collections of 5 outfits inspired by YSL. The Denver Art Museum is also creating a interactive fashion work room that will showcase a different designer each week until September showing demonstrations. The public can learn how to sew, sketch, learn about textiles and more! I thought what better way to break in that work room by having 5 of the designers from Project Runway finishing their collections live in that work space for everyone to see and ask questions about their inspirations their designs and anything else they want to learn.
The Designers that Forever Darling V will be featuring are:
Danielle Everine
Rafael Cox
Julie Tierney
Becky Ross
Mondo Guerra
Cecilia Motwani
Michael Costello
Fallene Wells
Forever Darling V is going to be 3 days packed of fun events Here is a general agenda for the show.
Thursday March 29th all designers fly into Denver, 5 designers will be completing their collections in the work space at The Denver Art Museum

In the Spotlight...featured designer Sarah Vander Neut!
Meet Sarah!
Photographed by Valerie Williams
Sarah Vander Neut: Sarah Vander Neut was born in Eugene, Oregon in 1983. Drawing was a daily regimen for her growing up, and her ability to sew is due to her mother’s teaching. SVN received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Boise State University and a Masters of Arts in Christians Studies from Denver Seminary. Also receiving a teaching credential from the University of Denver, SVN teaches art in the Cherry Creek School District as well as art history at Kilns College in Bend, Oregon. Her influences include Alexander McQueen, Kandinsky, Egyptian drapery, Native American symbolism, and graphic novels. SVN believes that sometimes the best thing an artist can make is time to imagine. She happily lives with her best friend and husband, Matt, in Denver. As always, Sarah uses fabrics recovered from second-hand oblivion, and salvaged materials for my accessories. Re-use is always at the forfront of my fashion ideals, which is not a sacrifice–it is a springboard for responsible innovation and beauty. For her FD4 collection she will be showcasing Fall/Winter 2011 designs and she will be taking orders for Jackets/shirts, purses, cowgirl boots/mocasins, fascinators/accessories/dinosaur hats. Event Spotlight: Forever Darling Fashion Show
AUGUST 31, 2011 | BY NICOLE
The world of fashion is an exciting, fast paced industry full of beautiful models, gorgeous clothes and lavish parties. But it is also a highly competitive community that can be tough to break into.Lucky for aspiring designers, there are people like Fallene Wells in this trendy society that look to help others who are also trying to make the cut in the world of fashion.
Wells is a fashion designer and hair stylist in Denver, Colorado who has been in the industry for ten years. Her career is on the rise and this year she even landed a spot as a contestant on Project Runway Season 9.
She is also the producer and organizer of the Forever Darling Fashion Show, an annual event that showcases her clothing line, as well as fashions from other local designers. Wells describes the Forever Darling show, now in it’s fourth year, as a “fashion event that helps promote local designers, artists, models, hairdressers, and small businesses. In a nutshell it’s an amazing event that supports the creative professional community in Denver.”
The September 30, 2011 show is expected to draw 300-400 attendees. Wells couldn’t be happier with the growth of the show, “I’m very excited for this year, I want to use my experience from Project Runway Season 9 and show the audience what real design is all about. We have eleven eclectic local designers, including myself, showcasing fall collections of ten pieces each.”
The fundraising goal for this year’s show is to raise about $5,000 with the net proceeds from ticket sales. There will also be a silent auction that will benefit the Denver Design Incubator, an organization that helps designers produce a clothing line from sketch to production. “I’m very happy to have Denver Design Incubator as our non-profit. They are a new establishment and I’m so happy we can help raise money to have them expand” says Wells.
Guests will gather at this event for fundraising and fashion and enjoy the evening’s festivities in a fun roaring 20’s theme. Attendees will get to enjoy the musical styling of GigMasters’ 5-Star swing band, After Midnight (Highlands Ranch, Colorado). Professional dancers will also accompany the live rag time jazz music and guests are encouraged to come dressed in roaring 1920’s garb.
What could be better than an awesome themed event, listening to a great GigMasters band and partying for a good cause? To learn more about the Forever Darling Fashion Show or to purchase your tickets please visit: www.foreverdarling.org.

Valerie will also be shooting work of all the designers at Forever Darling IV. If you would like some professional pictures I recommend contacting Valerie http://vwfoto.com/gallery/fashion
.
Yesterday we had a lot of fun at the Art Salon! We had a cute 10 year old fashionista interview all of the designers from Forever Darling IV about their inspiration and what their collections will be like for the show! She really stuck it out with 10 designers to interview in 5 hours, that's a lot for anyone to take on but she was a professional with a little help from sugar! We had a great red carpet set provided by vitaminwater, Arabella will also be interviewing some of the guests at Forever Darling about their personal style.
Stay tuned for the video footage we will be posting in early Sept!
We're almost there!
We are $215 away from our goal with only 8 hours to spare! I am looking at getting the T-shirts made and I'm thinking it would be cute to do a Raglan style T with our new logo! Thinking maybe a heather grey with a darker sleeve
Keep up the great work of promoting this project we have almost reached our goal
