Final Skull

Overall I am really happy how this has gone, there are a few issues with the proportions and something is a bit off from the side perspective. Any and all feedback is appreciated!

Modelling Challenges

The Human Skull

Using my reference I have began blocking out the main shape of the upper half of the skull. I am still working on the overall shape and proportions, however have made a good start to the sculpt. Practicing and becoming familiar with the human skull is vital for when I come to creating character faces, I begin by marking out the skeleton and skull before building up muscle and refining. 

Above I did a bit of a paint over to see where I need to move and change. I also need to better define under the eye and push it in slightly.

3D Character Modelling

Introduction

For this module, I have been tasked to create a 3D character suitable for the Valorant universe. The character must be game ready, taking into consideration topology and animation, as well as poly count and rigging. I will be researching workflow, as well as creating some practice sculpts to improve on my anatomy and Zbrush knowledge, as well as a set of texturing challenges. Both the modelling and texturing challenges will benefit me skill wise for when I come to creating my final game ready character.

I do have previous experience working on both characters and working within Zbrush. to begin this module I will be sculpting a skull using reference gathered from "Anatomy for Sculptors

Basemeshes

Basemeshes are low poly meshes used as a starting point to build off of for character creation. When modelling a basemesh, it must be ensured that the model is created entirely with quads. Triangles, ngons and poles can cause pinching or other issues when subdividing and sculpting on.

Poles are a set of edges that merge into a single vertex. You can see this here in the sphere I brought into Blender.

When I subdivide this sphere, it creates a star like shape around the pole. This is difficult to sculpt on and will cause issues later down the line.

I have completely reset this page and will be using it to follow my game development process, following a bunch of tutorials, uni projects and my own projects. I will mainly be focusing on 3D art however I am looking forward to delving into a range of things.
