If they refuse to listen to our response on net neutrality
If you haven’t heard already, the fcc has admitted to not caring about the 22 million emails they’ve received unless they were in ‘legal terms’ meaning unless you talked like a lawyer who specializes in this specific category, they ignored your email. It doesn’t look like they plan on changing their mind, no matter what we do. As hopeless as that sounds, we might still have a way to fight back. I’ve heard a few states are trying to make Internet access a state provided utility like electricity and water. If that happens, companies like Verizon would take massive blows. Spread the word, if we can convince our local governments to make internet a state provided utility, it would help not only to sway the votes, but help preserve the Internet in general. I’m posting this on multiple fandoms because the net neutrality tag gets censored. Remember, without net neutrality your fandom will be completely destroyed.
YoungMom Confession
I wonder if other parents check up on their kids sleeping during nap time only to find that they are in such a position that looks uncomfortable. I get so torn between wanting to fix them and leaving it be because i know the moment I touch/move him, nap times over.
YoungMom Confession
My son is already more than half my size at 3ft and he’s only 3yrs old. I’m going to feel so tiny when he goes through puberty and I honestly don’t know what I’d with myself if he surpasses his father (who’s near 6ft). Short momma struggles are too real.
YoungMom Confession
Least favourite comment I’ve heard, so far, addressed to me after stating I have a child: “wow, and I thought I had my child at a young age”
YoungMom Confession
I’ve noticed that I actually pay attention to the plot in my son’s shows right after the movie “Elena of Avalor” because isn’t that where Sophia’s (Sophia the first) amulet is from? Like why didn’t the movie address this? I’m surprised from my interest it and the lack of connection.
YoungMom Confession
That awkward moment when you realize that having a child changed your vocabulary and it’s hard to switch back to normal words in front of other adults so you just roll with it. I’m not even ashamed anymore if I ask my coworkers if they want wawa on a hot day.
YoungMom Confession
You know what bothers me? When people feel the need to inform me of what I already know. Just the other day someone commented on a post I made about recent shows being different to old ones and they said something along the lines of “haha you must be a young mom..”
Like…I know. That’s literally the name of my blog. Whether the comments were made irl or online it’s still annoying because I fail to see the point in reiterating that tiny fact.
YoungMom Confession
Whenever I’m just sitting down enjoying a snack after a hard day’s work and my son comes up to me with some nonsense about his toys, I just put a snack in his mouth and continue enjoying my snackage.
YoungMom Confession
My son has trouble going potty in public restrooms because the sound of the toilet automatically flushing scares the beheegees outta him. I just realized that he would rather hold it in until we got home or just pee in his diaper when I’m not looking. This has got to be one of the most frustrating parts about potty training. Like I don’t even know where to start to help him get over this -.(\
YoungMom Confession
As a parent I still don’t understand why so many parents (especially the ones I dealt with growing up) tried so hard to clean their house (for guests) to make it look like it’s not lived in. Like they’d yell at their kids or whatever about picking up all of their toys and putting them away from view and all that shazam.
Don’t get me wrong, I clean my house for guests as well but if there was a couple of stray toys in the corner I honestly just brush it off because let’s be real; I have a kid, they know I have a kid so it’s a no brainer his toys are gonna end up somewhere. Especially if he’s still playing with them, I’m going to leave them where they were as long as they aren’t going to trip anyone up.
YoungMom Confession
I honestly had half a mind to put down the potty training sheets you buy for when you’re potty training your dogs because my son fails to make it to the bathroom or forgets to tell me in time so I will literally step in pee every now and then.
I figured he’d probably miss those too so I’m just enduring until he can get it right.
YoungMom Confession
I always feel the need to repeat certain words in public whenever my son says em because he’s got a lisp and certain words can be heard the wrong way.
For example when he’s talking about Thomas the train and tells me about Thomas, James and Percy; I just have to repeat Percy cuz let me tell you it definitely doesn’t sound like he’s saying Percy out loud.
YoungMom Confession
I have to constantly remind myself that everything is okay as it is now. I beat myself up too many times because I don’t have a great paying job, am still a full time student in college and still live with family members. It’s hard to remember that I’m working my ass off for a better future for my son and I, when I’m constantly comparing myself to parents or single parents who are older and have their shit together. It’s fucking tough and even though people don’t say it, their eyes scream failure to me. That’s why I try so hard to focus on the future and make sure that at least my son has everything he needs for now. This is only temporary and I can’t let myself forget that. And every young or struggling parent, single or not, needs to remember the end goal we’re working for. This is for our babies future, for theirs and our happiness. We can do this. Don’t give up. I’ll hang in there with you guys.
YoungMom Confession
Before I had a hard time understanding when people said that children suck the life/energy out of you. I always thought I was hyperactive until my son started running. I honestly think I feel that way because I am around someone with a shit ton more energy than me cuz when I’m by myself my energy seems to seep back into my body. So now I get it; it’s not that children suck the energy out of you, it’s that they’re always around to remind you that they have more of it than you. >.>
YoungMom Confession
It always boggles my mind how ninja my son is. Whenever he’s in my bed and moves too far to one side close to the edge or when he gets up to get out of my bed, I wake up instantly. But whenever he sleeps in his own bed, I always wake up with him right next to me with no memory of him ever climbing into my bed. Like how’d you do that child?? How did I not detect your presence even with your mini cuddles??
YoungMom Confession
I either hide in my room or the kitchen whenever I eat candy or anything sweety.
That way my son can’t find me so I don’t have to share…oh and so he won’t ruin his teeth with sugar, that too.
