hey there welcome to superpower school, where we teach you to use your dangerous superpowers in a school-like environment. here's your syllabus. as you can see, this class will consistent entirely of occasional world building lectures of no use to anyone who has actually lived in this world for more than a day, and unsupervised practical assignments that place your life and the lives of everyone near you at risk. also we have a tournament arc in around 50 chapters that will inevitably be rife with cheating and will be infiltrated by people who actually for real want to kill you. grading will be on a curve.
HATE when you can't stand someone who is literally harmless. Like oh I'm the bitch here. I'm 100% in the wrong but nonetheless fuuuccckkk this guy
If I see a company advertising with AI, it makes me lose trust in them and the services and goods they supply. If you’re too slimy and cheap to hire a voice actor for a 15 second ad or an artist to design promotional graphics, what other corners are you cutting? There was a nurse posting pictures of the AI generated advertisement his hospital posted everywhere and he was pointing out the errors in the image like the stethoscope having two sets of earpieces and the doctor’s fingers being wrong. I think if I walked into a hospital and saw that bullshit I’d be like “They’re charging me $80k for this procedure and not paying advertising people to do their job. Are they paying custodians to do their job? What else are they cheaping out on and could it be something that kills me?”
this made me laugh so hard that it triggered an asthma attack.
I actually think Portland absolutely has the right idea with showing up to protest in ways that make violence against them look not only unjustified but absolutely ridiculous. Ah yes, the people line dancing in inflatable animal costumes. Terrifying. Clearly pepper spraying the dancing frog guy was totally justified.
I think we need Gothic Lolita protestors. People in Star Trek uniforms. Slap on a pair of short shorts and a Richard Simmons wig and lead some sweating to the oldies.
"there is no way you're not using chatgpt for at least a few things here and there no matter your stance on it" what the FUCK are you talking about
i am massively overdue for a very very good week where not a single bad thing happens and everything is easy

Pretty rad and fitting meme honestly. Well done episcopalians.
Utah transportation: “ Good news we could all use: the Parley's Wildlife Overpass is working.”
Thanks Blake Ledbetter (@blakethy) and @usuaggielife for leading the study.
depressed steampunk guy: like nothing makes me happy anymore i feel like my fantastical flying contraption just ran out of coal
do you think steam just magically comes out of nowhere im so sick of these people who dont understand steampunk it makes me want to get into my submersible bathysphere and never reemerge
Steam. Is. Water. Coal. Makes. Smoke.
what is the coal doing to the water
Makes sense to me
The coal car is so the train driver man can have delicious barbecues whenever he likes (:
sometimes when i see posts like this i go and check on the person who was Very Wrong because about 80% of the time their blog now looks like this:

everyone was joking about trump dying today and I think that's really horrible and cruel. PLEASE do not joke about trump dying unless it's true and confirmed!!! I got really excited and then when I found out he was still alive i was really disappointed!! like that's so mean to do to people
bro i LOVE indigenous fusion music i love it when indigenous people take traditional practices and language and apply them in new cool ways i love the slow decay and decolonisation of the modern music industry
I WILL !!! I WILL DO THAT
some of my favourite indigenous artists, in no particular order:
Inuit artists:
the jerry cans (esp their album Inuusiq)
beatrice deer
twin flames
Māori artists:
jordyn with a why
Indigenous australian artists:
tilly tjala thomas (i particularly love ngai yurlku nhiina)
kardajala kirridarra (srlsly check out ngajabu (Grandmother's Song))
i've also heard good things abt Baker Boy, but i haven't checked out his stuff yet
Another one for Inuit artists is Piqsiq! Two sisters who’ve been doing traditional throat singing since they were kids. They make some really gorgeous, eerie, atmospheric stuff. Highly recommend watching this video of them performing live a cappella using a looping machine, because they might be the coolest people on the planet actually
(Jo March nearly in tears voice) women,,,,
For anyone into North Asian and Central Asian folk music, there's this incredible Siberian folk-pop band called Otyken! The group is mostly women and they're from multiple indigenous groups in Siberia, with songs being sung in their range of different languages. They're so much fun and their music videos are amazing!
i'll go ahead and recommend The Halluci Nation (formerly known as A Tribe Called Red), an EDM group from First Nations Ontario that do really cool fusions of First Nations music with dubstep, moombahton, and hip hop.
I really really really appreciate people who share videos on posts like these, because almost without a doubt every time I love the music but I’ve never got the spoons to click on links and look through a bunch of music or worse google the artist I always end up too overwhelmed to start and I hate that
Haven't seen Belle Sisoski here yet so here we go: she's the current Artist of Year for BURO impact Awards. She's from Malaysia and knows how to play an insane amount of ethnic instruments and mixes them with her own voice. She does covers and her own songs, mixes ethnic instruments with Techno and shows the process. And she's also a live DJ at 19!
And one of her own:
Oh and of course there's also the HU and Bloodywood for people who like more rock and metal mixed in:
1876 is a Pow Wow punk rock band from Portland, Oregon
Jumping back to OP's mention of Baker Boy, because he's phenomenal 🖤💛❤️ He also collaborates with a bunch of other Blak/Aboriginal, Indigenous, and POC artists, so you can find some other quality folks just by looking through his stuff.
Most of his stuff makes you wanna dance, but his tunes are super-diverse.
CW for the voice of a deceased Elder in this one.
These are both from his debut album Gela, but his second album DJANDJAY is out on his 29th birthday next week, and every track I've listened to from it thusfar is a absolute fire 🔥💖🔥
Albums named for his skin name and his late grandma (and a Yolngu spirit guide), respectively.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
I love Otyken!!!
