A strong leader who expressing good words and feelings just like “I like You” and “Thank You” and has the most beautiful voice in the world.”
Q: What were Soobin’s feeling when he was decided as the Leader of the team?
SB: I felt a lot of pressure since it has been said that the character of a leader is to be following from behind rather than being in front. I had politely refused at first since it wasn’t the position for me. However, after a few talks with the company, I had thought that I might be a good leader and also seeing the people who give me cheers from behind
Q: Have Soobin’s personality changed after debuting?
SB: I was so introverted and I couldn’t say my words properly. I was like a loner that I avoid when someone comes to talk or to approach me and I was under a lot of stress. The members had helped me a lot. I got to know how to express my mind naturally and after those times, I had become very talkative
Q: Are you bothered of the real-time reactions and responses on charts regarding your debut album?
SB: of course, the results of the charting of the album were important too but it doesn’t matter to me that much. our members are also looking forward and working hard on monitoring responses and reactions. what’s more important is to
Q: I have heard your choreography of the title song were only finished by two months, do you have an episode of that?
SB: once I dance, I’ll be like completely discharged after I practice four to five times without taking a break because I sometimes thought that I should get used to this hard feeling. I practiced a lot, sometimes I’m using my whole strength on practicing, even going to its limit and discharging it after. Now, we only dance/practice for like two to three times and it is really fine
Q: What is the song from the album that you have been loving a lot?
SB: the song that I love the most is ‘Our Summer’. I use falsetto confidently. Also, it became so attached for me since Band PD nim praised me during the recording of it and he said it fits so well for me since the song itself is really for me
Q: Who was the musician that inspired you a lot?
SB: Pop singer Bebe Rexha. She is the type of musician that write lyrics and her lyrics has a really deep meaning which gives a lot of comforts.
Q: What is the most important thing every day?
SB: After work, taking a shower with warm water is the healing time for me. This will a TMI…so I also take a shower for a long time and can be up to an hour. So when all the members wash up and fall asleep afterward, I’m always the last member to take a shower and go to bed late.
Q: We had heard you really like bread, what is most favorite of all the bread?
SB: I really like blueberry whipped cream bread that a store sells it near our old practice room. But since now then we had moved, I can’t buy it again
Q: Who is the person you respect the most and you were influenced a lot?
SB: My mother is somehow like a disciple of justice, she is the type of person who helps a lot and wanted to help. since I was young, I always see good things from my mother. I learned a lot from her and was influenced.
“Huening Kai’s name means sea and victory. His Nickname is Ning Ning, Ning-gyi, Hungka and Hueningie. The first impression of him might be quiet, he has a character that has a sense of cheerfulness. He likes to wear hoodies and he likes cat (Molang) characters. He likes the smell of Lavender scent and the sound of the green nature. Also as the youngest member of the team, he is loved by his team members.”
Q: How was the feeling when you debuted?
HK: The day when we wrapped our first stage, the members and I were exchanging a lot of comforting words and good words to each other. Like, we really worked hard and will work harder evermore. It seems to be still like a dream and has this burning feeling.
Q: We have heard you really are good at playing piano
HK: I had played the piano when I was 8 years old and still playing after today. I can skillfully play Jon Schmidt’s ‘All of Me’. If there’s a chance, I wanted to play piano also when we will have a concert.
Q: If you will be aired in the ‘Masked Singer’ (TV Show), what will you sing?
HK: I think ‘Give Love’ by Akdong Musician, this was also my audition song.
Q: Who is the musician that has influenced you the most and who was the musician you listen nowadays?
Bruno Mars. I really like his songs. Also, these days, I listen to Shawn Mendes. I like the way on he plays the guitar and also the way he sings.
Q: For being close to the members, what were the chances?
HK: Yes of course. When we are bored or have spare time, we usually play games and most likely, we play board games. And the one who will lose will somewhat eat Indian Bob. We also went to a water park back then last summer and we really enjoyed it.
Q: What was the most different thing between trainee years and now debuting?
HK: I think I have now a firm mind and became more mature. Also, my height grew a lot. I came from 168CM to 181CM.
Q: There are some saying that you can’t sleep without a doll
HK: That’s right. I feel like sleeping with a doll makes me comfortably sleep and makes me sleep soundly too.
Q: What do you want to achieve this year?
HK: The ‘Rookie of the Year’ award
Q: Why does title track of the album was named ‘Horns Grew in my head’: CROWN?
HK: Horns represent pains and growing up. I first heard it and it was my favorite song out of the album. The lyrics also had a deep meaning and it was very catchy also.
“Yeonjun, the dancing machine that dances everywhere as he hears the music plays. He likes the blue and purple color and the peach scent. He has the nickname of ‘Yeong-Mok’ since he really likes to eat a lot and He is also the eldest of the group.”
Q: Why do you love dancing the most?
YJ: Back then when I was in middle school, I joined a dance club. When I was dancing on a school festival, I felt a lot of excitement and I think through that, I think I can now say that dancing is truly the path I have chosen and I will be for the rest of my life.
Q: Your favorite song is cat and dog, so what are you more about? A cat or a dog?
YJ: I think my personality is more like a dog but my face more looks like a cat
Q: Who is the member of the team that is cute as a puppy?
For me, It is Huening Kai! He is 18 and he is so sweet and an adorable person, you can see it on him. He is pretty pure and he is really lovely.
Q: Who are your favorite musicians?
YJ: My favorite musicians are Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Asap Rocky! I always wanted to go to Asap Rocky’s concert in Seoul but despite of having a tight schedule, I couldn’t attend and see his concert.
Q: We have heard that you are the first place in everything in your monthly evaluations during trainee days.
YJ: yes, I am also the first place on rap. Hip-hop is truly my favorite genre out of all genres and that is why I wanted to focus a lot to rap parts.
Q: What’s been the thing that had a lot of difference before and after you debuted?
YJ: I think when I had debuted, I had improved a lot. In my abilities, I think I improved a lot too and also my mind has changed. I have a young mind and I always complain about what I don’t want to do or my dislikes. But now, I think I’ve grown and I can now hide those negative feelings. I feel like I’ve been matured.
Q: If you have free time, do you sometimes write rap lyrics?
YJ: Yes I wrote some on my memo pad
Q: What have you been writing recently?
YJ: I wrote lyrics about my mom driving a small car but if I’ll do well later on, I’ll change it to a nice car like Porsche.
Q: The members say that you are the most active member of the team?
YJ: Yes, I am really an active person
Q: Today when we were filming, you really naturally dance to the music played today
YJ: It seems like its been a natural thing to me when I dance if I heard music. I also automatically dance when music blasts on our practice room. I am active person too, and I felt a lot of excitement when I always hear music
Q: What is your most favorite part or the most highlighted part of the choreography in your title track CROWN?
YJ: I think the part on where we did the wave dance. I’ve never seen a choreography like a wave dance.
Q: Have you had a TMI that fans don’t know?
YJ: I have a birthmark (Mongolian) on my Pubic line and I had a big mole on the back of my hand
“Beomgyu is most known as the mood maker of the team. He came from Daegu and has still used his own dialect, and known of his personality as ‘Bright’. He likes the color white, the guitar sound, Cartoon ShinChan and the time from 2PM to 6PM. He is the type of person who raises up the mood of the team’s atmosphere.”
Q: What seems to be the hardest challenges?
BG: I can say being on stage and performing on stage. Having promoting our album in straight five weeks on music broadcasts, I want to change my gestures and even my facial expressions since the choreography is fixed. It seems to be the hardest challenge but at the same time, being on stage and performing on stage is really a happy feeling.
Q: What is most favorite track in your first album?
BG: My favorite track is Nap of a Star. If you have a guitar, you can play it and you can feel its relaxation and it is soothing throughout the whole song. I listen to it a lot mostly when I finished work or before going to bed. Through this song, I feel like I can remember all that I’ve been through and can explain my feelings all in all.
Q: What do you do and the members if you have a day-off?
BG: We go to PC Rooms and even went to Hongdae to buy clothes. Also, I want to go again to that Chicken Shop and have a picnic near the Han River when went there once.
Q: For you, who is the cutest in the world?
BG: My parrot Toto! He is in our home in Daegu. I kinda miss him and I want to see him soonest actually. Also, when you go and hit the doorbell of our house, you can automatically hear Toto’s voice after who is saying ‘Hello~’. My father sends me a lot of pictures of Toto on the trees, even though at first, I couldn’t see him. I also remember making Ramen in the kitchen, he knows when delicious ramen is served and he went to me, wanting he wants to eat also.
Q: You are known as the Mood Maker of the Team, how was the feeling?
BG: The members say that I don’t get tired and always cheers them up because I am a high-tension person. If I’ve been seeing my members who are having a hard time, I give them comforting and good words to brighten up their mood. Also as times passes, I think I’m getting closer and closer to our members and I’m so happy about it.
Q: Your hometown is Daegu, right? Do you have any particular hang out place?
BG: My friends always like Dongseongro but I like Bukseongro more. My father d likes go there most likely during old, there’s somewhat a restaurant there that has udon in a pot and bulgogi
Q: Out of all musicians, who seem to be the musician that influenced you a lot?
BG: I think I was most influenced by BTS V Sunbaenim. Back then when being a trainee, he gave me a lot of advice and I always remember him on emphasizing the importance of practice
“Taehyun had written, ‘I have lots of thoughts’ in his words to express himself well. He plays the role of ‘Lovely’ boy like a joke in the team but also, he is the one who is in charge on taking care of the members and also thinks about what ‘Cool’ really is. A young man who answers with a clear voice without blinking his unusually big eyes.”
Q: Do you still have the dream of becoming a singer until now?
TH: Back then when YouTube isn’t available, I used to look for video clips on Junior Naver and I clicked accidentally Shinee’s Music Video ‘Replay’ and I decided on becoming a singer. Especially seeing that Taemin’s Sunbaenmin dance part was really cool. 10 years ago, I remembered it very clearly.
Q: What was your topic of the three-year preparation period?
TH: I thought about a lot of what the meaning of ‘Cool’ is. Up until now, I haven’t still had the answers very clearly yet I don’t want to take pictures cooly but I want to take them as a cool person. I think it is something that comes out naturally from its varieties commonly such gestures, facial expressions, even its depth of music, also the speech and its actions.
Q: Who was your favorite musician since you were a child?
TH: Justin Bieber, he is really cool. I also remembered when we were trainees, I sang Justin Bieber’s song ‘Boyfriend’ at the end of the month evaluations. I think I did well on stage by singing it ascending to the next level safely as well.
Q: How was the evaluation of your Vocal Performance?
TH: At first, I honestly became human. (Laughs) When I first started, I wondered how I got into the audition. I was a bit greedy and worked hard and also I became someone differently because of the help of many people. Also, these say, I often got compliments for having good emotional lines. It seems my vocal strengths would be in the slow, groovy, R&B Genre.
Q: Who was the mentor that talks a lot with you about music?
TH: Slow Rabbit (One of the producers under BigHit) and we compose songs through kakao talk. We have been talking a lot these days. Also, he asked me what kind of music I’ve been listening to. These days, I’ve been listening to Billy Eilish’s album and Crush’s Wonderlost. I really enjoyed listening to it a lot.
Q: You play the role of being the ‘Lovely’ of the team but instead of receiving those love, you are the one who is giving it to the members
TH: I take good care of the people around me. I’m also in charge of nagging in our dorms. I say always through chats that ‘We should clean this place today. Put the shoes on the cabinet as you get rid of your shoes. The members also follow me up on a regular basis.
Q: What was the most memorable moment of all time?
TH: I think the first showcase, the first fansign, and the first win. Back then when having our first showcase, I remembered clearly that I was really nervous and my heart has almost to come out. Even inside the company, feels like there’s still a lot of people watching us and makes our hearts trembles.
