Here's something I've realized, the reason why the newer way of animation for animes and such don't look that good, is because of the movement, or lack there of. In the older style of drawn anime, where each cell is drawn, there is slight movement of the body through the cells not being perfectly aligned, giving that motion I'm talking about.

The human body rarely stays perfectly still, especially the eyes, they tend to shift around and dart from place to place. The hand drawn animation style used this inadvertently, with the slight shift in the cells.

In newer 3desk animes, I've noticed that the body tends to stand still, and that the eyes tend to lock into place unless they're trying to show that the character is looking around. This to me gives it that uncanny valley look, where they look right, but something is off about them.

Truly a sad thing to wake up to the news that Notre Dame Cathedral is burning. More than 800 years of history, art and architecture in almost certain ruin and no idea what can be saved.

This close to the Easter Celebration, I have a very hard time believing that this was an accident caused by conservation work taking place in the basement.  Having worked on such things in the past, I’m all too familiar with all the safety protocols in place.  And I can only imagine how plentiful and strict those protocols are when it’s a building of such incredible value filled to the brim with items of immeasurable worth.

Simply put, I find it impossible to believe that a small fire could have been started accidentally and then allowed to grow in to the conflagration we see now.

Pray for the world, folks.  Even if you’re not a believer in this faith, there can be no denying that this is a loss to us all.  Notre Dame Cathedral is an icon of European history and showcased the heights to which craftsmen can soar.  I’ve often displayed the ironwork here on this blog, but the building was absolutely filled with marvelous examples from every trade.

It deeply saddens me knowing that a good amount of history that this cathedral once held is now nothing but ashes and rubble. And the knowledge that when they do rebuild it, it won't be the same without the skills that have been lost to the ages.

110% true, gentle Hulk is so important to me. I’ve read a HELL of a lot of Hulk comics and especially in the early ones Hulk never ONCE attacked first. People see him (mostly military) and go omg giant scary monster! And attack him and Hulk OFTEN wonders WHY he is being attacked. He’s stated he doesn’t know why they are doing it and also stated that he WASN’T DOING ANYTHING but of course he will defend himself.

Hulk has also canonly stated “hulk is tired of the guns and the noise and the fighting”

And the few people that approach him nicely he defends the hell out of.

That’s why I love him so much. Hulk is so much more and I could rant for hours. I love this post for being this up

Hulk is also not stupid. Banner’s brain is still in there; Hulk is just focused on different things.

I honestly think Taika Watiti did the best job at this in mcu canon. Hulk was emotional, expressive, and insightful. Valkyrie was kind to him, and he made a genuine friend with her.

So many writers and directors have reduced him to “dumb barbarian” when in reality he’s an impulsive adhd guy who only gets let out in times of heightened emotion and tension. When he is in a calm environment? He’s just a big green dude.

And to add to this, I remember hearing somewhere that during the first avengers movie, when he punched thor off screen that he was testing if he could hurt a god. And finding out that he could, decided to just go 2 year old on Loki. Showing that he does still have Bruce's brain in there and is still experimenting on what he can and can't do.

My submission for the Dirty Smith Zombie Apocalypse Weapon challenge.  Hand-forged out of some leaf-spring, handle is red oak.  Most modern piece of equipment used was a 2x72 belt grinder.  This challenged my skills as a blacksmith with this being one of the largest blades I’ve ever made, as well as a new handle technique.  Learned a lot and had lots of fun. @dirtysmith
