I’m not going to hold anyone’s hand when I say this:

You are fighting the good fight. That’s great. At the same time, no one is going to take any of us seriously if we continue to let camp counselors past their prime guide these protests with those soulless chants.

I’m begging you, my fellow activist, listen to Pete Seeger. Study Woody Guthrie. Find recordings of the Civil Rights movement. Develop a chant to fire the crowd up with. For the love of god, shut thee fuck up with the kindergarten team-spirit chants.

We CAN fight this.

While we are at it, we need to stop treating protests and marches like talent shows to see which marginalized group has the most team spirit to fight against the dictator.

Cody Ko didn’t deserve to be cancelled. Sometimes, 17 year olds are capable of making adult decisions. You don’t magically become capable of making adult decisions when you’re 18. He’s not a fucking rapist or a pedophile. He was a shithead and a douche for sleeping with a 17 year old. The world is not black and white.

The cancel mob mentality against Cody is not in support of Tana. I literally never see comments talking about how sorry they are for her, how awful it must have been, how she’ll need therapy…because she consented. Because no one actually sees her as a victim, they’re just excited to cancel another YouTuber.

My frustration isn’t so much directed at people canceling Cody for the allegations, it’s that Americans, who already have such a fucked up perception of sexualization and such a poor sexual education program in our country, so staunchly uphold the arbitrary age of 18 as being the magical number. Half of these people canceling Cody wouldn’t give a shit about the situation if Tana had been 18, even though Tana’s brain development would have almost the exact same as it was at the time of the alleged night they had sex. It’s the lack of consistency. 18 years really is just an arbitrary age. You can go to war but you can’t buy cigarettes or drink alcohol. If you guys were REALLY that concerned about the age of consent being 18 you would fight law makers about raising the age of enlistment.

It’s the flip flopping between “17 years old is a literal CHILD.” And also saying “He was 18 at the time! He is an adult!”

You don’t go from being a “literal CHILD” to an adult overnight. Be fucking for real, you guys were just excited to cancel another person. You do not care about Tana.

Surprised to see negative comments on social media poking fun at how they are "big" around the waist as compared to the animated.

For a 60 and 40 year old, I'd say they look really great at their age!

I remember people poking fun at Grant Gustin for being too skinny to be The Flash too, but look at how he stole the show as Barry Allen!

Temuera Morrison who played Boba Fett was made fun for being "fat" too but he took it gracefully by showing his workout video.

It's an example that body shaming happens to men too. Because everyone is so used to seeing fit and muscular male superheroes.

Why can't people just appreciate everyone as they are? They've done superb jobs portraying these characters for many years.
