The thing is that you can’t really compare Max & Dany’s situation. Sure, Max adapted to the RB12 super quickly, but he also had the advantage of stepping up to a car that is leagues superior to the STR11. A lot better aerodynamically, a better engine etc. And that’s without counting the fact that Max got Dany’s old team when he moved to RBR. A team that included Giampiero Lambiase, his (quite experienced) head engineer. Max was also familiar with RB12 as he had the chance to run simulations with it as well.

Dany had to step down to a car that he never had the chance to familiarize himself with beforehand, that is a whole lot more difficult to manage, and was given a brand new team of (relatively) inexperienced people since Xevi & Oliver were given the boot. And unfortunately, the inexperience has shown, as the team (and the driver) have made stupid mistakes and have been reeeeally struggling to get the right set ups for the car. (Monaco and Baku were the only two races where I’d say the team got it right).

So you can’t say that Dany is a worse driver than Max, when you compare the results that they got since the swap. The two situations are completely different.
