Intro...again
Y'all. I'm finally back; had to delete my blog for reasons I'd rather not disclose.
Anyways, expect a mess of Pjo-related things, with a (more than) a dash of criticism. Enjoy!

Intro...again
Y'all. I'm finally back; had to delete my blog for reasons I'd rather not disclose.
Anyways, expect a mess of Pjo-related things, with a (more than) a dash of criticism. Enjoy!
Ok, so Nico di angelo:
a) not realising he's asexual until he's in a relationship
And
b) struggling to communicate about his asexuality to his would-be/could-be boyfriend
Are both so plausible I-
That's it. That's the post.
On the Asexual!Nico di Angelo train again, and I just realised most of Nico's physical affection is platonic! He let's Reyna hug him round the campfire at the end of BoO, and again in the same book, he allows Jason to hug him + the high-five with Annabeth.
But when it comes to his romantic crushes/love interests, for the most part, he doesn't approve. For eg, here even when they're dating and he is most likely over his internalized homophobia:
His affection towards Will is mostly verbal, but almost never phsical.
So, yeah, throughout most of the pjo-hoo-toa continuum, Nico mostly prefers platonic affection.
I know this is hundred percent unintentional, physical affection and expression being majorly platonic, but not romantic/sexual is often used for asexual coding...
Am I failing at the "stop talking about your asexual Nico di Angelo headcanon" challenge? Absolutely! Do I care? Absolutely NOT.
For those of you who headcanon Nico di Angelo with a personality disorder, which one is it?

Introducing #pjo was never good...
The tag for all your criticisms regarding the og series. It may encompass representation, writing, themes etc. Your memes, metas and musings are welcome and requested. Thank you!
Because let's be honest, the saga was never good.
Imagine pulling that excuse in a series where every character is neurodivergent and has trauma...
I dislike the new books, but I dislike what this fandom has devolved into even more...
Hot take: I think that the whole "Percy is a super-genius with extraordinarily mental faculties" schtick is low-key worse than the opposite.
Let's be honest here, a lot of Percy's smart moments are variants of the plot-armoresque "Mc gains iq points in the face of danger". He can be slow on the uptake, reckless with his talking (especially when confronting gods, which is a terrible idea) and occasionally, lacking in horse sense. That's certainly not a sign of genius intellect, you know...
Besides, a lot of the times, the narrative puts him in extraordinarily convenient situations, or he's pitted against villains with the intelligence of a brick. Let's not oversell him, ok?
