Vows
You were the first thing I never doubted Everyone says that when you kiss the love of your life for the first time there’s sparks and fireworks behind your eyelids But you see, I saw nothing like that There was nothing but blackness when I closed my eyes and leaned in to kiss you But I do recall an overwhelming sense of calm ring through my bones There was an eerie stillness inside of me, And when my lips finally made contact with yours, I felt like I was coming home after a long day. And I think I knew then that this was an everlasting kind of love. When I look into those dazzling blue eyes, I see our future laid out before me And let me tell you- it is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen since I cocked my head and really took a good long hard look at you. I promise you that this is it for me. This isn’t the end of the road, but the beginning of all the daydreams I’ve had stored in my head since a young age. You can put all your trust in me that I will always love you to the fullest of my abilities. I want to write our love story on your skin with my fingertips, And today when I slide this ring onto your finger I am dedicating the first page to you and signing it “Forever Yours”
