(( I have a few asks sitting in the box but my motivation for this just dropped all the way to hell, maybe when school's out and I have the time. At the moment the ask box is going to be close, sorry for closing it so early though. Schools been rough this year ))
Letting out a squeak Gusion leaped forward to stay away from the Mulliboom's grasp. " Away! " Gusion cried out. Tossing the blooded tears that they had gathered that was ever-streaming down their cheeks. They nearly knocked into the familiars that flew around them due to avoiding the spiders that skittered around their feet, their rapid movements catching Gusion off guard a few times.
" Why are they so fast!? " Gusion exclaimed, planting their foot onto the ground they made a sudden sharp turn to confuse the Mullibooms. It seemed to have done the trick as Gusion landed a direct tear onto the Mulliboom bomb that was engraved into its head. " Oh sh- " Gusion yelled, before covering their head as they ducked. Their singular wing wrapped around themself as they have done this. A loud boom echoed throughout the room as a gust of warm air brushed past Gusion.
Nervously peeking up, they glanced over to the now mutilated Mulliboom. You wouldn't even think it'd been a Mulliboom due to how much damage the explosion caused. It was a gory mess, a few spiders and the other Mulliboom that was there got caught in the action which sent off a chain reaction. Catching their breath, a sudden light-tan color caught their eye. Gazing over at the foreign object that was taped to the wall, they noticed it was an envelope.
" Another one? Where do these keep on coming from? " Gusion muttered, walking over to the envelope and taking it off the wall. Opening it up, they read the words inside of it. Gusion couldn't help but puff their chest out, feeling rather confident and show-offy as they couldn't help but crack a smile. " I think I proved that I am fully capable of dealing with monsters. " Gusion answered to no one in particular, hand on their hip. " Even if this is technically my first solo run without anyone... " Gusion muttered under their breath, rubbing the back of their neck. Clearing the blooded tears off of their face finally alongside the smudges that came with it, They whipped it off onto the robe that covered their body. Suddenly a soft clicking noise caught their attention.
Turning around they noticed a penny on the ground in the center of the room. " Ah! Just my luck, " Gusion chirps, discarding the envelope as they skipped over to the penny. Getting on their knees they reached for the penny, the light of the campfire reflecting off of it.
They haven't even heard the skittering of many feet as the sole surviving spider lunged at Gusion. Gusion turned their head in time to witness the spider throw itself at them, they could feel their heart skip a beat as they were thrown into their fight or flight mindset. Throwing themselves back, Gusion threw their arms over their face to block the attack.
They were frozen in that position for a while before slowly lowering their arms. Their chest heaving up and down as they stared out in front of them. Their two familiars were flying above the now blooded mess the spider made, the two eyes gazing no longer on the gore but now on their handler. Their wings flapping at a steady beat. " Well... Maybe I am still learning about the monsters down here. "
Aw, why hello there small one. Is this your first run? Also, your familiars are so adorable what are their names?
Gusion narrowed their eyes as they peered into the room before the doorway, their hands positioned against the doorframe to keep their balance and not to get locked inside. " Wow, you really can't cheat, huh? " Gusion huffed, leaning back slightly.
Sliding their hand off the doorframe, they felt a tap on their wing as they glanced behind their shoulder. Noticing an envelope wrapped around the veins. They cocked their head to the side.
Turning slightly to face their familiar, they stared at the envelope. " Where'd you get that? " Gusion questioned, grabbing the envelope. Not expecting an answer, they stared at the envelope in their hand before opening it up. A note slipped out, nearly slipping out of their hands but they caught it. Reading over the words they cocked a brow, glancing around they shrugged. " Okay, guess I'll answer whatever this is. " Gusion muttered.
" No, this isn't my first run. I can't remember what exactly run I'm on, but I think I just ended a run not long ago... I... " They started before pausing, gazing up at the ceiling. " I think I was with someone before I ended up in this place. " They answered. " And for the other question! "
" I..Uh..Don't have names for either of them...I just give them random nicknames here and there but never stick to one... " Gusion grumbled a response, stifling a nervous chuckle while at it. Rubbing the back of their neck, they ignored the increased fluttering noises from their familiar's wings as they seemed rather unamused by the answer. " But, I do appreciate you calling them adorable. Other's first reactions to them aren't usually pleasant. " Gusion hummed as they turned back to the door's entrance. The fluttering from their familiar's wings seemed to have calmed down from the sudden compliment.
Entering the darkness of the room before them, the thick fog seemed to fade away as soon as they entered, the doors slamming shut behind them, causing Gusion to jump in surprise but quickly pull their attention back to the sudden groans, snarls, and scuttling of many feet. The crackling of fire almost drowning over the noises.
" Oh, Looks like we have company! " Gusion exclaimed, their familiars flew in circles around Gusion as they spoke.
Gusion let out a groan of pain as they pushed themselves off from the ground, the soft beating of wings had awoken them. Glancing up, they watched as their two familiars flew in place above them, looking down at their handler. Pushing themselves up, they couldn’t help but cringe at the sight of cobwebs as they finally stood.
“ Well... “ They finally spoke, “ This isn’t ideal.. “ They muttered. Hugging their arms they anxiously glanced between the two doors that stood before them.
It felt like hours as they stared between the two doors, their familiars flapping their wings impatiently. Already bored from waiting for their handler to awake finally, Gusion spoke once more “ Where am I? “
