The 13 angels❤️👼

On April 20th 1999, 13 innocent people were senselessly killed in a shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado. Today, 20 years later, we still feel the void of their absence. We remember their lives, the people they were, and who they could’ve become. Although their time here was cut short, they live on in our memories everyday. We will not forget them.

As shots rang out through the school, some students turned to their faith to keep calm in a moment of crisis and fear. These drawings in the 11k depict crosses and other Christian symbols, the transcription of Bible verses, and the written pleas of a student begging over and over again, “Lord keep us safe - Lord please protect us.”

Some pages from Wayne Harris’s notebook he kept on Eric regarding the Brooks Brown windshield incident. Strong insight into how Wayne handled his son’s behavioral problems.

The first page appears to detail the events as told to Wayne by Randy Brown following a phone call between the two. At the bottom, Wayne takes note of Eric’s behavior: aggression, disrespect, idle threats of physical harm, property damage, overreaction to minor incident.

The second page is written following a conversation with the school dean Mr. Place. It reveals that Wayne planned to talk to Eric that day and possible the boys together - “Eric wants to talk to Brooks with an adult present” - and reveals that Wayne was “very concerned about alcohol acquisition” and “would get police involved if necessary.” Wayne’s conversation with Eric ended with the two deciding that Brooks and Eric would leave each other alone and not talk about the incident any further.

The third page reveals that Eric denied knowledge about the alcohol and said that he “didn’t know what [the dean] was talking about.”

On the fourth page dated a month later, Wayne writes, “We feel victimized, too. Brooks Brown is out to get Eric.” He also calls Brooks a “manipulative con artist.”

A student’s handwritten account of the shooting, written as it was still ongoing on 4/20/1999.

My transcription, with punctuation and errors in tact:

It sounded like a train and lots of yelling the class was quiet and 1 boy and three girls ran into the room the boy said “I’m going to hide in here okay” then “somebody’s shooting outside!” We didn’t here [sic] anything because of all the people running. Then we got on the floor and we heard 1 shot. Mrs. Mosier locked the doors and said get away from the windows we all got against the front wall and then we heard more shots later lots of faint shots and then more loud shots like it was just outside. AT one point I heard a loud shot and someone yell from outside. NOW we are all sitting in groups and the girls and crying on and off we make Jokes sometimes so we can all laugh but we are all scared

the shooting has stopped for about 1:30 minutes now but we all hear noises from outside we all wonder if someone we knew got hurt. we can hear a helicopter sometimes but now we just want to leave and go home. it’s been about 2 hours for some it feels like 2 days for others 2 minutes. For me I don’t really know but im scared. We’re calmed a little bit but just hope it’s all over!!

right off it was a dull roar but then it sounded like hundreds of rocks hitting the ground “The Students running” then lots of yelling louder than an elephant about 12 sec. later the students ran into the door and told us what happened and then the noise stopped dead silent and loud firecrackers “gun fire” it sounded like it was just outside

the ground shook from the gun shot or it was all the students including me jumping we can hear every little sound someone accedently [sic] kicked a chair and everybody jumped its now 1:30pm we’ve been in here for 2 hours 30 mins.
