Hello, and welcome to Fosters!
Character name: Joshua Silver Age: 20 Birthday: 5th of January Gender: Male FC/PB: Paul Craddock Height: 6’1” Likes: Candles, the color blue, sweet soups Dislikes: Bright, artificial light, corpses Hobbies: Knitting, Reading, Swimming Habits: Falling completely still at seemingly random moments, trying to always be aware of everything in the room he is in, wearing clothing that covers most of his skin.
Reason for being in Fosters?: A recent freak out at a college event which lead to the decision that he was safer in a home like Fosters. He tried to freeze himself.
Personality: Joshua can be seen as the tall, brooding type. Because brooding he does a lot. You can often see him stand around in the background, watching everything with slightly wide, blue eyes, often a distanced look on his face as if he was waiting for something. He isn’t exactly insane, but does believe there are ghosts and that he can hear them whisper if he tries hard enough. His CIP allows him to only feel certain temperatures and he started imagining some of them as a sign of the presence of a ghost, due to stories he used to hear about as a child. Often he would try to explain it to people and give them some form of proof, but of course he failed which only leads to him trying again, but fewer times then before. Due to his believe in ghosts and their presence he keeps a certain distance to humans, which also has to do with his CIP in a way. IT doesnt mean he despises them, he is just cautious.
Background: Being born with CIP was not a light fate put upon him, as his parents and him always lived in the fear of him dying during his childhood. On the days when he was not allowed to go out or play with other children, his parents used to read him stories, his mother all kind of fantasy, while his father tried to teach him more of the science part of things. While he grew up, his parents slowly lost their paranoia, to the relief of the boy who had started escaping the house he saw as a prison more often. Only when another accident happened they would lock him back in which lead to him having a lot of time to himself,t rying to find his own limits. The first time he was actually allowed to leave his home for a longer time was when he went to university, starting on his studies. His parents didnt think anything bad of his believe in ghosts, but when incidents started up in his time living there, they finally decided to put him into a more safe place, not sure how to deal with their strange adult son.
Personal relationships:
Joshua is close to his mother, who is a teacher and always read him his stories. She continued to let him believe in what he wanted, but made sure he concentrated on real things too.
His father was a teacher too, one that didn’t like his son to fantasize about everything. Their relationship was strained at most times, and he was always the one chiding his son for anything he did wrong in his eyes, not being careful enough for the most parts.
Hope, his sister, was a normal born child and at first worshipped the ground her brother walked on. Over the years she stopped doing that though, and they both became very distant. He loves her dearly, but as she was the darling sunshine and normal child of the family, he jsut fails to connect with her, but writes her letters weekly since moving out.
Other distinguishing facts: He is born with an illness that causes him to not be able to feel pain and most temperatures.
He has a light lisp due to biting his tongue too often without noticing during his childhood.
