#1 The lottery was held every year on October 31st. You dont have the slightest clue what happens to the people who 'win' the lottery. Just that no one ever sees them again after they head in the forest.
#2 It wasn't the first night that they hadn't come home on time. But it was the first night that you woke up and found yourself in a house that didn't resemble your own in any way. Something was off.
#3 You didn't realize what was happening until you caught a glimpse of the news on your TV. Humans were no longer the rulers of the earth now... and it seems your new rulers were fond of treating you like children/pets

#4 The ghost story was something every youth heard at least once on a cold October night. When they were deep in the woods. Far away from their warm, cozy homes. Maybe if you were smarter, you wouldn't have accepted your 'friends' dare to head to closed down summer camp.
#5 Before you moved away, your best friend was a tough little farm kid who was the kindest person you had met in the whole world... and now you were moments from certain death- the slasher just needed to find your hiding spot. Unaware who was really behind the mask.
#6 "Stay here, I'll go check it out". There's no stopping yourself from offering, as long as it means getting away from whatever is going on with those two... Little did you know the two slashers were arguing over you.

#7 When you were small, you often thought of the freedom there must be in running away- now the open roads do nothing but remind you of the collapse of modern society. How alone you are...
#8 You have gotten really good at dissociating from what is happening right in front of you. Which is good for your sanity, but it makes survival almost impossible for you. Its a good thing they are more than willing to look out for you.
#9 You always had an odd obsession over the dark fairy tales. You loved nothing more to read from the old pages about witches, wolves, and goblins. You never thought any of those childish stories were real- until now.
#10 Your name is called from somewhere downstairs - a few seconds later, it is then called from your attic. The voice mimicking your loved ones, trying to trick you....
#11 It had been your own idea to watch the horror series that had plagued your nightmares as a child. You wanted to prove that you were braver now- less of a coward. It's funny how that has turned out for you. Here you are hiding from monsters once more.
#12 "I know you saw what I did earlier. No need to hide anymore". They smile because they know you have no choice. You can keep hiding, but you will eventually be found.
#13 It was like the forest had swallowed you all up, now you were all in the belly of this great terrible beast. You had no idea which way to go- directionless as the others fell into chaos
