How Stoicism Became Religion for Immature Men
At least Quartararo is getting points
To the anon lamenting the state of the Twitter fandom: please don’t forget that the way it looks over there now is in no small part to Elon’s master plan to boost “engagement” on Twitter (stop trying to make X happen! Nobody calls it that!). No matter how carefully you curate your feed Twitter is literally built to fuel fan wars and discourse right now. What that asshat thinks is valuable is the arguing on Twitter, so that is what is pushed to the top. I do feel bad for any new fans coming in however. It’s got to feel like the equivalent of that Community meme where Troy comes back with the pizzas to everything on fire, etc.
Russian propagandists' hopes for America
Russia needs America to bail it out of its war with Ukraine. When you read Julia Davis's summaries of Russian propaganda day after day, it is abundantly clear that the propagandists themselves (despite all of the bluster) are aware that the war did not go according to plan, and indeed is going very badly. Again and again they are put in impossible positions: when Ukraine takes territory; when Russia fails to take territory; when more Russians have to be mobilized; when Yevgeny Prigozhin tries and coup. They cannot criticize Putin, and they know that Putin cannot win unaided: and so they root for his allies abroad. (..) Russia can't win its own war, is the propagandists' evident conclusion -- but America can win Russia's war for it. America is of course not all-powerful, as the Russian propagandists claim to believe, but on this point they are right. As we near the U.S. elections, their discussions of Ukraine, like their discussions of Russia and everything else, focus entirely on what is happening inside the United States. The regime they serve, and the senseless and genocidal war it began, can be bought some time, if and only if the United States fails to support Ukraine. And so the heroes of Russia's war, in Russia's own propaganda, become the Americans who support it.
"I think a lot of people need to realize that characters like the dhampir trio or Amelia are background characters and it’s kind of ridiculous to be frustrated over them not getting much attention in the story compared to the main 4. They are never going to have much purpose besides serving as a way to flesh out the main characters and that’s fine because that’s what background characters are and every story has them and it doesn’t mean mochijun fails as a writer or isn’t appreciating them it just means they are background characters! and if anything mochijun does more than needed for her background characters by always including them in extra content. I’m just so sick of hearing people complain about why mochijun is not paying attention to the background characters or asking for more focus on them when she’s barely halfway through in developing her main characters and their relationships with each other"
Z didn't say that she doesn't know what's going on with Euphoria; she simply refused to answer questions about the new season. We know that Z is really good about not revealing work stuff unnecessarily. We got the head costume designer of Euphoria give a few long interviews a couple of weeks ago in which she revealed a bit more about the pre production process. She's a person that has to start working before principal photography starts because costume design and procurement takes time, just like other production design stuff, and she said that she was starting work on May to start shooting on June. She also said that she was emailing Z while Z was in London. Fans gotta remember that Z is a hands-on executive producer of the show, so she definitely knows what's going on, just second to Sam and his wife. She doesn't need to be in LA to attend production meetings
Also all studios are working under threat of a writers' strike that can start at any time after May 1st. That will force studios to have at least preliminary scripts submitted before May 1st to avoid production shutdowns. In the last writers' strike in 2007, productions were shut down during the strike and the writers' union picketed productions that were believed to be crossing picket lines like the Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien shows (since they had to write new content daily)
In summary, Z knows more than what she shares, and there are always some uncertainties given a possible strike starting soon
