Harmony the dog

So my sister and I pet this amazingly cute dog named Harmony. Harmony had this spectacular pink collar, leash, and bow.Throughout the many fluff strokes and belly rubs we had a nice conversation with the owners who were obviously proud of their little pupper because they went on and on about 'her' many qualities. After we walked away my sister wide-eyed whispers to me, "Harmony had a penis..." I choked at this statement, but finally coughed out a "WHAT?" Thinking I didn't believe her she yelled out, "IM SORRY BUT GIRL DOGS AREN'T SUPPOSE TO HAVE OUTTIES!" A fit of laughter followed. To Harmony's owners: Harmony's a dude... sorry?

Millionaire

If I was a millionaire I'd live in the same normal, cheap apartment anyone else would. Why? Because mansions be damn expensive! And I'd rather give the money I save, from not living a completely lavished and luxury lifestyle, to someone who needs it more. I think there are plenty of people who need food and clothing more than I need designer shoes.

This shows me that you don’t actually care about these things, you just want all the “minorities” to shut up so the status quo never changes.

If you are not black or a person of color, you cannot understand the daily racism received, or the fear that comes along with it: imagine people moving to the other side of the street, or a store clerk or cop looking you up and down/following you around. If you are not gay, you cannot pretend to know or understand the pressures of the coming out decision, and all the consequences that can come with it: imagine your family the people who are supposed to have your back, disowning you or people beating you up- spitting vile names in you face, for something you can’t change. If you are not a women or girl you cannot understand the pressure to dismiss your sexuality so as not to be a ‘slut’ or a 'whore’ names only indigenous to women unless you add a 'man-_____’ in front of it or constantly being second guessed or questioned on your emotional state: imagine growing up knowing you will probably get paid less than your male co-worker even if you work harder or that if you get pregnant you are expected to drop everything and give up your life and body toward this baby, and if you are a teen you become nothing more than a sad statistic claiming you will now fail and if it wasn’t consensual everything about you will be scrutinized and judged before anyone believes you- as if clothes could consent for you.

To claim that you suffer the same as these people is a sad injustice. You say you want these other campaigns so that everyone can be equal, but the other campaigns have not suffered as they have suffered as they ARE suffering. They have not earned the right of recognition and thus do nothing more than smother their voices under false pretenses hoping to hide them away for another few decades while they get fat on their thrones of ignorance, bigotry, and bias. To pretend to know, understand, and share in the same pain as these original #’s is to make a mockery of them in the worst of pretenses.
