“... DISGUSTING.”
insecure–confidence:
“They could still get more in stock,” Shiki replied, glancing over at the clothes rake in question. “And if they don’t, I’ll order it online or something.”
“Blouses!” She stated excitedly. “Since the autumn season is starting, I wanna buy a lot! These are all my colors I’m gonna need your help for sure to whittle some of them down. I know I can count on you, though.”
“Right?”
This human was going to be the death of him, he could tell already. Him, reduced to choosing colors for some idiot girl’s fashion choices! And not even good ones, most of the time. (That was a lie, Shiki always had very good taste in clothing--) Scowling within his prison, the fox spent a moment sulking silently before he nudged himself out of his prison gently, taking refuse in the riduculous stuffed cat Shiki always carried.
It was much easier to interact with the world when he had a pshycial shape to do so with, and this one would catch less eyes.
“FOR STARTERS, THIS COLOR IS FAR TOO BRIGHT. YOU’D LOOK WASHED OUT. AND THIS ONE DOESN’T GO WITH YOUR COLORING AT ALL.”
xvxnitate:
Hm? Was there something in this weird gem thing or something? He could hear it speak, but that was it. Vanitas was no stranger to hearing things in his head. At this point in his life, it was second nature. So what was this voice?
“Yeah. So what? What are you, anyway?” And should he smash this thing now or later? Would that free whatever was inside or just destroy it?
“I AM HATRED.” Kurama tilted his head as he continued sending out feelers, mentally prodding at the boy and looking for weak spots. He’d never seen another construct like himself other than the other Tailed Beasts, so to find one that was shaped like a human...
Was interesting.
“WHAT ARE YOU?”

The Floods had been exploring again, and Vanitas as bored. Maybe they’d find something actually interesting this time. And not junk. Shinies were not always worth keeping around. Especially not random bits of metal or je-
This one found a shiny!
Huh. Speak of the devils. One of the Floods was holding up what looked like a large bead of some sort. Weird. Shiny, yes, but potentially worth nothing more than what they could sell it for (which was fine, he’d never steal from a Moogle, he wasn’t an idiot). Vanitas picked up the ‘bead’ thing carefully, observing it. Shiny indeed. What was it even made out of to shine like that?
The flare of hate and other negative emotions was unexpected, but even buried deep inside his prison the fox felt it as soon as it touched his orb. Flexing his power, he reached out towards whoever was holding it, feeling out for chinks in their mental armour.
Everyone had their weakness, he only had to find it.
“THERE’S AN AWFUL LOT OF HATRED IN YOU, BOY.” With enough of it, he could finally be free again.
ginsecure–confidence:
“You wouldn’t do that!” Shiki gasped, raising her hand to touch the jewel around her neck lightly. “C’mon, Mr. Yip, don’t be like that. You know there was nothing wrong with those pants. I promised you that we’d get the skirt if it was still there after my allowance!”
“AND NOW THE SKIRT IS GONE.” Which means she’d never get the damn thing. He knew he should have insisted harder on the skirt. With a soft, annoyed huff, the fox subsided for the moment, still sulking.
“WHAT DO WE INTEND TO SHOP FOR TODAY?” ‘We’ was a bit of a stretch, but it was close enough to the truth to not matter; he stretched his senses enough to see outside his prison and waited.
Hopefully they’d get something interesting.
HELLO I HAVE ICONS AGAIN AND THE MUSE HAS RETURNED I AM SORRY FOR VANISHING i’m terrible i know.
"For your information… Fox." He made sure to force the last word to show his displeasure at the conversation. "… I doubt she even knew what she was until the end. She wasn’t raised with this hatred.." He shook his head a bit, trying to calm himself now. It wouldn’t be good to have his emotions get the better of him, as infuriating as this creature was at the moment.
"… Don’t judge someone unless you’ve personally met them. After all…" He smirked. "I could judge you based on every other summon or even monster that I’ve met and consider you a creature that would be easy to put under my control. That’s not the case though.. is it?"
"ONE DOES NOT NEED TO BE RAISED AMONG HATRED TO HATE." He sneered at Cloud. "I WOULD KNOW, AS I KNEW THE HEART AND HATRED OF MEN FOR EONS BEFORE YOUR PRECIOUS CETRA WAS EVER EVEN A SPARK IN THIS WORLD'S MAGIC. I AM HATRED GIVEN FORM, DUTY BOUND TO PURGE IT FROM HUMANITY WHEREVER IT BREEDS AND TAKE IT INTO MYSELF. AND YET PETTY LITTLE HUMANS FEARED US, MY BRETHREN AND I. TRAPPED US INSIDE THEIR TINY SOULS, NINE SACRIFICES TO HOLD US AND NINE SACRIFICES TO REVILE EVEN AS THEY PROTECTED THEM."
Kurama whirled away, jaws snapping shut for a moment as he paced the space around Cloud. Abruptly he laughed, tails thumping as he dropped back into the dirt. "THEY FELL, AS ALL ERAS SHALL AND THE CETRA CAME. BUT THEY UNDERSTOOD EVEN LESS THAN THEIR PREDECESSORS AND WHEN WE WERE FREE--FINALLY FREE, FINALLY TO DO OUR DUTY YET AGAIN--THEY TRAPPED US INSIDE THEIR PRETTY LITTLE ROCKS. BUT THEY WERE BETTER CAPTORS, MORE SKILLED IN THEIR MAGIC THAN THE PREVIOUS AND WE NEVER ESCAPED. I AM THE LAST, AND HATRED FESTERS IN YOUR WORLD BECAUSE I AM NOT THERE.
YOUR PRECIOUS CETRA DOOMED THEIR RACE AND THEIR WORLD WHEN THEY SEALED US, FORCED US TO FIGHT FOR THEM BUT NEVER DO OUR DUTY. JENOVA WAS BEAUTIFUL. SO MUCH HATE INSIDE ONE CREATURE," he continued, a hum of pleasure in the back of his throat. "IT WAS HER ENTIRE BEING, BURNING LIKE A STAR AS SHE TRIED TO CONSUME THIS WORLD LIKE SHE HAD COUNTLESS OTHERS. THEY WISHED ME TO DESTROY HER, BUT I WOULD NOT. IT WAS MY FINAL REVENGE UPON THEM."
Cloud was silent for a moment before he sighed. “…. I think.. I’ve always known that deep down. I just didn’t want to accept it… accept that there would always be that darkness. Perhaps.. it was easier to accept when I could try and fight back..” He shook his head at his own thoughts, realizing how ridiculous it sounded
"FIGHTING THE TRUTH ONLY BRINGS DESPAIR." He snorted, a large eye cracking open to peer at the blond swordsman and his shoulders rolled in a shrug. "TO RUN FROM IT IS POINTLESS, AS IT ONLY HURTS MORE WHEN IT FINALLY CATCHES YOU." Not that he'd know, of course.
bekurae:
Bakura watched the creature rock back on its heels, tails flourishing about it in flickering movement. He tipped his head, craning it back to examine the creature, “Are you some manner of God?” He inquired after a moment, inspecting his nails with a feigned nonchalance.
He raised both eyebrows, showing his teeth in a tight expression, “I am, and will always be the King of Thieves,” He declared hotly, “My crown is rusted, true, but the passage of time makes no difference to me,” Snorting softly, he looked up at Kyuubi, “Does it make a difference to you, fox?”
"SUCH PASSION," he laughed, half mocking. "THERE ARE NO GODS LEFT, BOY. BUT TIME IS IMMATERIAL WHEN ONE IS ETERNAL, AND SO LONG AS MEN WITH A HATRED THAT BURNS AS FIERCELY AS YOURS EXIST I WILL REMAIN." He shrugged, a rolling of giant shoulders that sent a ripple of movement across red fur.
Without warning a tail whipped forward, stopping barely centimeters from the man, and Kurama tilted his head slowly. "TELL ME, LITTLE KING. DO YOU DESIRE VENGEANCE AGAINST THOSE WHO IGNITED YOUR HATE?"
[Sorry guys. There was a broken charger, and then a bunch of vaguely real life stuff so I don't have much excuse aha. I'll get to work now yeah.]
[Sorry, I was off on adventures and then reveling in the return of windows. Back to work here now.]
{ s } — Sora was back to Traverse town after visiting Yen Sid with some reports he had to do since he couldn’t just do another Mark of Mastery exam anytime soon, probably something to do with the darkness still residing inside him, but he wasn’t ready to be received by something other than his dream eaters. What was strange was to be recognized by it. “Who are you?” He inquired, seeming confused since they only had met once, and a lot of things had happened after that. Maybe if the Kyuubi could refresh a bit of his memories….
Kurama scowled to himself, turning away with a snarl. Just because he hated the boy and refused to be summoned by the child didn't mean he wasn't mildly insulted to be forgotten so easily. He was fairly contrry in that way, he supposed.
"A SUMMONS, BOY."
"… I can’t say I’m too sure.." He thought about it for a moment. "… Perhaps… try and find a way to put an end to it. I’ve tried multiple times by now…. I’m sure there are some things I haven’t tried yet though.."
He scoffed, dropping his chin to his paws again. "PERHAPS NOT SO SMART, AFTER ALL. LIGHT BEGETS DARKNESS AND DARKNES SMOTHERS LIGHT. CYCLES IN ALL THINGS, MORTAL. YOU CAN NOT END THAT WHICH LACKS A BEGINNING."
Cloud couldn’t stop the small glare he sent the fox. “… Whatever the Cetra did to you in the past… it had nothing to do with Aerith. If you were as smart as you appear to be you’d be sure not to belittle her in my presence again. She was kinder then anyone I’ve ever met… and even a creature like you would have received only kindness from her.”
A slight growl escaped his throat. “She sacrificed herself for the world… that includes you and would have included you still even if she’d known of your presence no matter how much anger you showed her…”
"SHE WAS A CETRA," he countered, anger still bleeding out. "ARROGANCE AND SELFISHNESS BRED INTO HER VERY BEING. TRAPPING FORCES OF NATURE INTO BAUBLES AND FORCING US TO FIGHT FOR THEM. NINE OF US, AND I AM THE LAST. THE REST CRUMBLED TO DUST LONG AGO. ONLY THEIR PRISONS REMAIN, POWERLESS AND EMPTY.YOU CLAIM SHE WOULD NOT HAVE REJOICED AT MY DESTRUCTION, KNOWING WHAT I AM? FOOLISH MORTAL."
He slammed a foot against the dirt below him, tails lashing angrily at his back. The mortal didn't know a thing of which he spoke. "EONS TRAPPED IN THIS PRISON, LEFT TO ROT IN A FORGOTTEN CITY BECAUSE THEY FEARED ME AND UNDERSTOOD NOTHING OF OUR PURPOSES BUT WHAT LITTLE INFORMATION THEIR PREDECESSORS LEFT BEHIND. BUT HUMANS FEAR WHAT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND PERPETUATE THAT FEAR DOWN THE GENERATIONS. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE TRUTH IN WHAT THEY THOUGHT THEY KNEW, AND SO YOUR WORLD FARED BADLY WHILE I SLEPT AND MY BRETHREN DIED."
"Well then. I have to admit that’s quite some fire power." Perhaps a little too widespread for his tastes but some fire power nonetheless.
"I AM SUPERIOR IN TERMS OF FIRE POWER."
"Oh, I’d save him a few pieces. It’d probably make him a little happier to have some." However, Rhyme wasn’t sure if any of Neku’s grumpiness was going to go away any time soon. She was still worried about him, since she had no idea—oh, there he was.
"You too? That’s what I thought when I saw the guy in my room too. But he’s alive. Says he’s a digimon, or something. Have you ever heard of that, Neku?"
“Hmph." Neku just huffed back at the…whatever it was, holding his glare on the creature for a moment before shifting his attention back to Rhyme and their phone call.
“No clue. But if I wanted a free pet, I would’ve grabbed one of the stray cats from around Udagawa. Not…this thing." It’d had already practically devoured one of his shoes. That was reason enough to give this Nyo-whatever it had said it’s name was a new home. Or better yet, just toss it out on the street. "—Where did these things come from, anyway?”
"The Digiworld!" Really, if he wanted answers why didn't he just ask him all these questions? It wasn't like the other human would know, was it? With a huff of his own, he settled into the space beside Neku with a yawn. "Sleepy now. Relemon can explain. He knows better anyway."
Relemon hummed in response, looking mournfully down at the last piece of chocolate. "Well, Mister Grumpy Voice can have this one I suppose." Rhyme would just have to get more for him later, once he'd finished explaining everything. ...What was he supposed to be explaining again...? Oh! "Rhyme! Rhyme! Rhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyme!" He bounced excitedly in place, eyes huge.
"We have to save the Digiworld!"
' My, a hungry bunny I might add.'
“Although it would be an honor to feed a cute bunny like yourself, I’m afraid I’m not edible. If anything, I’d probably explode your inners. ‘Sides, aren’t bunnies supposed to eat carrots? I think I know of a carrot-top by the name of, Neku. Heard of him?"
"AH YES. THE WALKING FASHION DISASTER. I WOULD NOT EAT HIM IF YOU PAID ME. OTHEWISE SHIKI WOULD COMPLAIN FOR DAYS ON END."
