Hello There.

As you can probably tell, this blog is Dead. I don't get prompts here anymore (maybe it says they are closed?? I don't even remember anymore), and I don't write much x reader anymore. I write ship fics now mostly.

But! I want to say that I am gonna start taking prompts over on my main (@foxgloveinspace), I kinda have been off and on for the past couple years.

This blog is not ever gonna get deleted (not until they delete me or the site), and if you like my stuff or reblog my stuff, I love it thank you so much for liking my writing, it always brings a smile to my face, this blog still gets a note a day at least, and I love that people love these.

I'm probably gonna go through and get rid of everything off this blog but my own writing, gonna move all the prompt lists to my main blog and all that jazz.

! This is such a cute one!!

Zack:

Honestly loves taking you anywhere you can sing. Karaoke becomes your staple date night, and you have your favorites, but he tries to find new ones for you guys to go to all the time.

He likes to sing off key with you, just to make you laugh, but he actually has a decent singing voice himself, so you can bet that you guys do duets a lot.

But his favorite thing is when you just sing around the house. He could walk in from the worst day ever, and hear that singing and just let out a sigh of relief, knowing soon he’ll be in your arms, and be able to enjoy the comforts of home.

Biggs:

He likes listening to you sing, and he’ll go to karaoke nights with you, but he isn’t much of a singer. He sits in the booth he saved for the two of you, and he sips his drinks, and when the whole place cheers, he’s right along with them.

He does try to find new places to take you if its something you enjoy doing a lot of the time. Usually Jesse tags along, which takes the pressure off him to join in. Not from you usually, but that kind that’s like ‘they look lonely, and I want them to be happy’. Which is how you find out he can’t sing, cause the first time he did sing with you.

He loves waking up to you singing from the shower. It's soft and carefree, and usually just a rhyme that he ends up humming to himself the rest of the day.

Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):

“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.

“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.

“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.

“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”

“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”

“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.

50 tips for (fanfic) writing

have fun

write whatever is interesting to you, even if it won’t be interesting to anyone else

appreciate kudos when they come, but don’t expect them

appreciate comments when they come, but don’t expect them

if you wish you could just write that one scene you have in your head, do that. you don’t need to create a 30K backstory for it first.

embrace one shots

embrace drabbles

embrace writing your story out of order

rough drafts are meant to be rough. if you can’t think of a word, put in a placeholder for it and keep going.

try not to get stuck on the little things

it’s okay if your readers can’t see the picture inside of your head

some people work well when they have a posting schedule. some people work well when they don’t. it’s okay if you don’t know which kind of person you are, and it’s okay if the type of person you are changes over time.

if a rule you created for yourself isn’t working for you, get rid of that rule.

make fandom friends. even if they don’t read your fic, they’ll cheer you on while you write it.

cheer on other writers you know. you’ll be cheering yourself at the same time.

no trope or genre is better or worse than another one. they all just appeal to different audiences.

quality and popularity are not the same thing, although they do sometimes overlap

numbers and statistics will never tell you whether or not you’re a good writer. they will never tell you how valuable you are as a person.

you belong in fandom if you want to be there

you’re a writer as soon as you start writing things

writing and posting are two different things. your story is still worth writing, even if you never plan to share it

you don’t need to apologize for what you write or what you post.

don’t worry about taking up too much space. the internet doesn’t have a maximum size.

keep your readers in mind when you’re tagging your content. how could they search for your fic? if you use a tag, will be a reader who loves that tag be satisfied with how much it appears in your story?

if you have a relationship in your fic that plays a minor role, tag it in the Additional Tags section instead of the Relationship section so that people who love that ship don’t get their hopes up

be cautious when looking at bookmarks on your fic. they aren’t “extra comments.” that’s a space where readers make notes for themselves and each other, not for authors.

you don’t need to know everything about canon before you start writing fic

you don’t need to read fic in the same fandoms you write for

you don’t need to read fic at all in order to write it

love your work because sometimes you’re the only one who will - and that’s okay

if your hobby starts feeling like a job, you might need to take a break before you get burnt out

if you get stuck on a story, you can always start a new one

if you fall out of love with a story, you can always stop writing it. if you’re worried about your readers, you can always give them a bullet point summary of where you were planning to go with thing. for a lot of people, that’s satisfying and provides closure

if you get hate, report it

use the tools at your disposal to block hate before it can come in (limiting or turning off comments, limiting or turning off asks, blocking users, etc)

try replying to comments sometimes. it can be a lovely way to make fandom friends

don’t be afraid to reblog your own writing posts.

if you get stuck on your summary, just write 1) who the story is about 2) what they are doing and 3) what problem gets in their way

notice when your writing makes you smile. that moment is a gift. enjoy it.

notice when your writing makes you cry. that moment is a gift, too.

even if you’re disappointed in how your story turned out, there’s something in there that’s fantastic. find that thing and focus on it and feel proud.

some ideas are ones you want to write. some are ones you want to read. if you ever have too many ideas to deal with at once, give some of the latter ones away to someone else.

sometimes the things you write will be really personal. be careful about putting them where other people can comment. they won’t know how personal it is for you, and you need to remember that comments aren’t about you, they’re about the story.

remember that you can write series as well as stories. if the story is done but you still have passion or ideas, start a new one in the same universe.

enjoy the satisfaction of finishing a story. savour it. bask in it a little while.

don’t feel guilty about abandoning a story. not every story gets finished, and that’s okay

you can have separate accounts for different fandoms. you can have one account with a million fandoms in it. do whatever works for you.

sometimes writing is more important than sleep - but only sometimes

it doesn’t matter if that story has been written before by someone else. it doesn’t matter if it was written by you. write it again.

only follow the advice that makes sense to you. the rest isn’t important.

-The first time he sees your fighting style he is in awe. Of course since he is the leader of the phantom thieves his first thoughts are all the practical uses. He gets his trademark Jorker grin and also feels super proud of you.

-Asks so many questions. ‘So, you just draw what you want to happen, and it happens?’ ‘Could you do x attack?’ ‘Do you think you could heal people this way?’ So on and so forth.

-Can’t help but put you in the party more often than not, on one hand cause he likes watching you fight, and on the other he loves just being able to look to his side and see you there.

-He stays up late thinking of all the possibilities you have with your fighting style for the first few days after you awaken to your persona. Every time he closes his eyes he sees you being a badass. When you guys meet up the next time for a mementos run/palace, he has basically a whole notebook filled with ideas, and you guys get a Show Time together.

-You didn’t ask for this, but he thinks it’s so funny that Yusuke is very jealous of how you fight and at one point tries to get you to ‘traid’ powers with him. No, no one understood how he was going to accomplish this feat, but he was very determined.

-If it’s his fault, his first instinct is to buy you flowers. If he knows your favorites, he gets those, and if he doesn’t, he gets the ones that smell the nicest.

-If it isn’t his fault, he will wait impatiently for you to come to him and apologize.

-Usually after an argument, he needs space, not lots of it, but he would rather not be in the same room with you if you were just yelling at each other. He doesn’t like coming home from a day full of shit just to get it in his own house, so most of the time there are not a lot of arguments. But when they happen they are doosys.

-When he is ready to be around you again, flowers in hand or not, he will come right up to you and ask if you need to talk it out, or if you need silence, but can he be in the room.

-Depending on your reaction, it could end in cuddling or in one of you sleeping in the living room.

-An argument never ends with make up sex with him. It’s not really his thing, if you were just angry at each other, he doesn’t want to go into a situation where any little misstep could set the both of you off again.

-Don’t ever argue with him about his work, or how long he works, cause he won’t really hesitate to cut you out of his life. He tries to make it clear from the get go that work will always be first in his life, and if you resent it when you’ve had fair warning, it’ll hurt him, but he doesn’t want that shoved in his face all the time. If you have a problem with it, don’t do it during an argument. Just talk about it.
