Robert Piguet’s Oud Trilogy explores the nuanced facets of Agarwood. All signed by Aurielen Guichard, OUD of 2013 is the foundation of the series. This classic interpretation of the note pairs Oud with Saffron in the top, Myrrh, Fir Balsam, and Styrax in the heart, and Patchouli and Guaiac Wood in the base. The notes are in harmonious equilibrium, and the fragrance never feels overdone. A light soapy quality makes this an Oud you can wear daily. In 2015 Piguet introduced two new iterations of Oud- OUD DELICE and OUD DIVIN. OUD DELICE creates a warm, ambery cocoon for the Agarwood, with the support of Honey, Amber, Patchouli, and Vetiver. I find some dark berries and dried fruit in there as well. A gender-neutral Oud that will be appreciated by all wearers. OUD DIVIN pairs its Agarwood with a profound Coffee note and just enough Tonka to give it a veil of sweetness. Tasteful doses of Patchouli and Vetiver create an earthy, grassy effect. I dare say this is almost an Oud Gourmand! Again, the skill of the perfumer keeps the notes in lovely balance. All three of these Eau de Parfum have a moderate sillage but excellent wear time.
