I mostly write poems, but I'm also interested in screenwriting and cinematography. I also play instruments, particularly bass and guitar, tho I also want to get into drumming (once I can afford a set) and I'm trying to get into vocaloid rn. anddddd I play a bunch of video games, mainly movement shooters and roguelikes... so yeah expect big jumps from fandom to fandom per post lol

i'm still writing love letters and sending postcards. i work primarily in a genre that doesn't exist. i do not say this in my mfa workshops because i know i'd be laughed at and anyway these aren't the things i say aloud this is a tumblr post. what i mean is this is a poem. what i mean is i've lost the lines between language, i am slipping through the cracks, i'm going to wash up on some faraway shore where the words do. oh and i'm a pop star, did you know? not in the real sense but in the sense that i am performing to you from a box. there are wires and knives and the most darling stationery set in my box and i'm happy. you could leave me with nothing but a pen and a wall and i'd still know how to count to the moon — i do it every night.

The curtains were blue because everything in the room was carefully colour coordinated, reinforcing the character’s stylish and controlled characterisation. The curtains were blue because everything in the room was a different colour, reinforcing the character’s eclectic and globe-trotting personality. The curtains were blue because the character is elsewhere established to hate the colour blue, subtextually implying that their deceased spouse was responsible for that decoration choice.

The curtains were blue because throughout their filmography the director consistently uses cool tones to mark moments of distance between characters. the curtains where blue because that color was symbolic through out the story- its a reference to their friends favorite color and Everytime we see something blue in the story it represents something with them. Now that the friend is gone their items- the items in blue make us think of them.

In the scene where the mc refuses to tell anyone something that could have saved his brother the clothes he wore were blue. When he heard gun shots and turned away instead of calling for help because he should have done something earlier the room was blue. When he refused to attend the funeral to see what had happened he stared at his blue computer screen begging for it to work. When he pulls down the blue curtains he is ignoring his sister outside asking him questions and if he wants to go out.

They always closed their eyes and walked away whenever something bad happened in front of them. They didn’t let him pick things out in his favorite color. Didn’t let his little sister wear purple or his brother wear red or himself orange. His parents where controlling. The curtains being blue represents how much control they have over their children’s choices and is a reminder that this house was authoritarian and that our MC has adopted their mentality despite being free now. They still decorate everything in blue.

Sometimes the writer does this intentionally. Other times it was unintentional and the curtains really were just blue but it’s cool that like happened- or maybe not if the accidental symbolism wasn’t good. While sometimes things are just descriptions that don’t have a deep symbolic meaning you can still glean something from them.

Professor Venomous’s favorite color is green in some people’s personal headcanons because so many of his favorite things (his car, his favorite people and friends, the snake decal on his suit etc) are green- maybe he really loves the color and chose to surround himself constantly with it because it makes him happy- something he didn’t do as laserblast or maybe he associates it with things he likes so he likes it because of that.

Pinkie pie’s favorite color is pink.

That’s not super deep but it is characterization.

Like sometimes the curtains really are just blue to the writer but you can still glean ideas or vibes etc. blue has not only a lot of color symbolism- some broad and widely accepted- others more personal to the story- but outside of that whole blue might not represent a certain company or organization or whatever but they still say something. If everything is red or orange and then there’s this random blue thing it’s gonna stick out. If everything in the house is organized aside from this one room- that says something. If everything is perfect sterile and white that says something. Even if the writer wasn’t thinking that shit adds to characterization

The heathers colors are also symbolic. Red is power. Green is jealousy. Blue is sadness/authenticity. Yellow is cowardice etc. there’s other stuff but that’s the gist

Sometimes the curtains are blue because the artist thought that color looked nice against pink walls and white trim because they keep accidentally making things trans colors. other times it was blue because that color printed best on the paper because yikes the grey bled through and the red looked weirdly brown. And they are upset because hotdamn they wanted to make them a different color. Sometimes the curtains aren’t blue but actually a different color that looks blue because of the other colors next to it and lighting. Sometimes the artist has issues seeing color especially the difference between blue and green and other colors look dull so they chose blue because to them it’s really bright and beautiful.

I absolutely love the insane amount of artistic/story telling reasons for random aspects of a piece of media. Is the painting blue because it’s sad or does the artist just love blue? Maybe they literally just had an extra tube of blue paint they needed to get rid of and didnt know when else to use it? Or maybe it was super intentional and the blue has some deep meaning that can only barely be understood from the final product.

It could mean nothing or it could mean everything and you’ll never know unless you think about it waaaaaay harder than you should
