RICHARD MADDEN and SOPHIE TURNER Met Gala “Camp: Notes on Fashion” | May 6 2019
Jenny would dance with her ghosts, The ones she had lost and the ones she had found, And the ones who had loved her the most.
Today Anne Neville, wife of Richard York (Richard III) and Queen Consort of England, died on 16 march 1485, probably of tuberculosis, at Westminster and at the age of 28.
The day she died, there was an eclipse, which some took to be an omen of her husband’s fall from heavenly grace. (Fuck, if this isn’t a symbol of true love then I don’t know what it is, I mean his personal sun was gone)
She was buried in Westminster Abbey in an unmarked grave to the right of the High Altar, next to the door to the Confessor’s Chapel, ‘with honours no less than befitted the burial of a queen.’
Richard III is said to have wept at her funeral.
By the late winter of 1484 Anne was suffering from a ‘mortal illness.’ There are few clues as to the identification of Anne’s illness, but mostly it was tuberculosis. All we know for sure is that its duration was two months and that Richard was advised - better to say, obliged against his will - by his physicians to avoid her bed because the desease could be infective.
According to John Rows, writer of The Warwick Roll, an early family chronicle of the Beauchamp family, Anne was: ‘seemly, amiable and beauteous, and in conditions full commendable and right virtuous and, according to the interpretation of her name, Anne, full gracious.’
“I always felt like something of an outsider. But I identified with people up on the screen. That made me feel like I wanted to be up on the screen too. I felt like eventually I would get there.”
Rest in peace, Luke Perry (October 11th, 1966 — March 4th, 2019)
I wish an happy New Year to everybody around the world 🎉🎉
A new photo from the wedding of Jack and Princess Eugenie. Stunning photo , would love to see more.
I am awestruck by William's speech, eloquent, concise, honest, raw. It didn't seem like a Prince speaking at an event he'd been told to, it felt human, admitting his mistakes and flaws and biases - a father, desperate for the world to be better for the sake of his children. I'm truly impressed, and I can't wait to see more of his work in this area.
I couldn’t have phrased this better if I tried. Seriously. You hit the nail right in the head. He didn’t speak as a Prince - though he recognized he is one and therefore has the power to instigate change. He spoke as a father and a former first responder who has seen firsthand the horrors associated with cyber bullying and social media and who fears for his children in a similar environment. It was so real. I am very impressed. It will definitely be interesting to see how he moves forward, especially after everything he said today. Wow.

The English and French headlines are both easy. What the German one says is: “Acceptance of Armistice Terms. Kaiser Interned. Hindenburg on the Run.”
But not soon enough. Not soon enough at all. These dates tell their own story.
George Edwin Ellison, 5th Royal Irish Lancers, British Army - killed 09:30 am 11/11/18.
Augustin Joseph Trébuchon, 415e Régiment d'Infanterie, Armée de Terre Française - killed 10:50 am 11/11/18.
George Lawrence Price, 28th Battalion (Northwest), Canadian Expeditionary Force - killed 10:58 am 11/11/18.
Henry John Gunther, 313th Infantry Regiment, American Expeditionary Forces - killed 10:59 am 11/11/18.
At least those men had names, and their relatives knew what had happened.
Others were less fortunate.
Many didn’t get even anonymous graves and headstones. Their bodies were lost, to exploding shells, ever-present mud and a shifting battlefront, until only names and memories remained.
Those names have sunlight and clean rain at the Thiepval Memorial…
They have bugles every evening at the Menin Gate…
And the memory of them has the song of skylarks, above Flanders fields where poppies still grow where they fell.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.”
“At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We will remember them.”
Remember.
Love Eugenie’s powerful statement, love her Dress. I have scars of my own and I always try to hide them, maybe I shouldn’t!
Don't hide your scars, show them... Princess Eugenie was beautiful even with her scar.
So don't be afraid to show them.
I love these pictures!! The family photo has me cracking up with Fergie and Philip, and the way Jack is holding Eugenie in the second picture….and don’t even get me started on the kiss….and then of course there is the selfie photo bomb in the last picture. How unique and strangely perfect
Princess Eugenie asked for her wedding dress be designed with a low back as a tribute to the hospital where she had a childhood scoliosis operation.
The gown, which was designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, has a neckline that folds around the shoulders and a low back that drapes into a flowing full length train, said Buckingham Palace.
The princess has previously spoken about the importance of showing “people your scars”.
Everything about that wedding was so beautiful and perfect and you could really tell that Eugenie and Jack are so in love and happy. It was just really beautiful and lovely ok!
