“Guess we’ve found the token smoker.” Hailey stood close to the wall, one leg up and pressed against it. Fumbling with something in her left back pocket, she pulled out a lighter, offering it to the other. “Can’t really trust flashlights in certain places.” Because lighters are that much better, one puff of air and you’re surrounded by the pitch black darkness just like one millisecond before.
“I wouldn’t say I’m the token smoker, but-- maybe. I only smoke when I’m a little anxious.” The girl spoke with the cigarette still between her lips. She walked forward and reached out to take the lighter, thanking her as she took it. “That’s smart to keep that on you. You’d think I’d learn.” She lit the cigarette quickly and handed the lighter back over. “Gone to the fourteenth floor yet? Or are you avoiding it just like I am?”
