One thing about the Charleston shooter's manifesto that bothers me more than the rest - his emphasis on the "take back our country" language that was so reminiscent of tea party's "take our country back" language. He came of age in the heyday of that message.

Health Insurance "Synergies"

My thoughts about for-profit healthcare - that a disproportionate share of our insurance premiums go to overpaid executives, overhead, and profits - have just been justified. In its bid for Cigna, Anthem claims the opportunity for $2 billion in "synergies" that could be harvested by combining the two companies. Why not merge them all into "Medicare for all"?
