4 me its just vibes-based, i think everyone can tell somethings not quite lining up with that man in the gender/sex department, but no one can agree exactly what it is. thats why we get transmasc ghost, transfem ghost, intersex ghost, nonbinary ghost, etc. ALSO helps that hes a fan favourite so people are more likely to project onto him
