With a little giggle, Alice wrapped her arms around Frank, more than elated at the returned affectionate gesture. Frank just always had this way of making her feel special and happy- and it certainly helped that she was slightly intoxicated. But really, she’d been buzzing around all night, hoping she’d run into him.
“I may be, just slightly, a little drunk,” she grinned, “but I’m not sure, I’ve never been drunk before! But what about you? Did you drink enough to maybe join me for a dance?” She’d been fine before, talking an laughing with other people, but now that she had Frank’s attention, she wasn’t planning on giving it up any time soon.
Frank’s lips grew into a smile. It was nice to see Alice out and about having fun. She deserved it. “ Slightly! Well that’s not good. I mean, it is, because you don’t want to be too drunk, but you don’t not want to be drunk enough where you don’t feel sober at the same time.” He said, rambling on until he didn’t know what else to say. “You can’t drink anymore. I don’t want to be....to be super hungover int he morning. Those aren’t fun. And if it’s your first time drinking you don’t need that. I promise you.” His voice was only slurring a little, almost not recognizable.
“I love dancing, I’m the best at dancing.” He said, grabbing the girl’s hand in his own. Frank lead her out to the area where people were dancing. He was going to let the girl start dancing before he made any move. He took a slow drink from the bottle in his hand, watching the girl. He smiled, thinking how he wouldn’t want to be with anyone else in this moment.
“That is certainly one way to put it, I prefer other such words. For instance, I am charming. I….bedazzle people with my smile and just, you know, leave them in a puddle. Puddle of death because my smile was so charming they couldn’t handle it. I am witty, obviously, I should have been a Ravenclaw. I am intelligent, I should teach Potions because – so intelligent. Great brain, I got. Lots of thinking goin’ on up there. Wonderful. Yes! I am w o n d e r f u l. ‘S the perfect word. So you see, I’m not…I’m not weird, Frank, I’m wonderful. But you were close mate, you were close.” Throwing his arm over Franks shoulder (admittedly mostly to stabilize his stance, because things were starting to spin a bit – the perfect state to be in), Edgar hiccupped slightly before letting out a laugh. “Shots! Aint nothing better than shots. ‘Sides me, of course.” But then, that was a given – just like how charming he was (and while he would love to blame his current level of cockiness on the alcohol, it really wasn’t that far from the norm – just more vocal than usual). “You can’t be here and not get smashed, you know? Just wouldn’t be right, and I can’t…. I can’t not be right. You know?” Handing out his bottle and raising it slightly towards Frank, his eyebrows shot up expectantly. “So, you’ll drink with me right? We’ll have a grand ol’ time, swear.”
Frank could barely hear what Edgar was saying. He was catching a few words throughout but the overall message the other was saying wasn’t registering with Frank. “I still think you’re pretty weird. But I mean a lot of the great intelligent people were weird, so you fit right there Bones.” Frank wrapped his arm around Edgar’s waist, trying to keep him upright. It was a bit of a struggle even for him, the alcohol was getting to him. His head was swimming, but it definitely wasn’t terrible. “I think there are plenty of things that was better than you.....and shots for that matter. In fact I could name a list of one hundred things better.” He teased. Frank liked when Edgar was even more cocky than he usually as. It was fun to see him make a fool out of himself. (Not that he wasn’t making a fool of himself as well.)
Frank nodded, eyeing the bottle in Edgar’s hand. It wasn’t like he wasn’t going to drink. He was pretty sure the other knew his limits, and that he would rather be completely shit-faced than deadly sober. “Well if you swear, then I have to.” He said, grabbing the bottle. He threw it back, the burn wasn’t terrible. “You know that you’ll have to hold my hair back when, or if, I throw up.” He wasn’t serious, he knew how much liquor he could hold and not throw up that night and he was nowhere near the level yet.
Giving a small twirl around, Alice was bouncing from group to group of people. This was, in fact, her first ever time of being drunk, and she was quite enjoying it. She felt uninhibited and floaty, full of smiles and well-deserved compliments. Sure, she knew some of the people there didn’t agree with her family’s values. They didn’t agree that equality was a worthwhile endeavor. Still, none of that meant that Alice couldn’t extend a friendly hand, or try to find some common ground. Change was slow, and change must always be fueled by love.
She pranced up to someone, swaying a bit and holding onto their shoulder as she arrived, since her balance wasn’t at its best, and looked directly in their eyes. “You. You are beautiful and majestic and you have s o m u c h potential. Don’t you ever forget it!”
Frank had just finished a round of shots. His mind was fuzzy, but he didn't care. By this point in life, he was used to being drunk. The familiar buzz washed over his body, from head to two. He trudged through the pitch, not really wanting to chat with anyone in particular. Frank chatted with people, but not for very long. He was feeding off everyone's energy. The smiles, warm feeling, and overall joy he felt was radiating off everyone. Swaying a little at the edge of the crowd, he sipped at his drink.
Suddenly a small figure pranced up to him. He bit his lip, realizing that the small figure was Alice. His Alice. He blushed at the girl's words. "Oh! My dear Alice. It is not I who is wonderful. But it is you who is wonderful." He said putting a hand on top of hers. "Are you a little tipsy?"

Slow Burn//Marlene & Open
As always, Marlene danced to the beat of her own drum, swaying around the bonfire as if she had been born with music in her veins that no one else could hear. But for once, no strange looks came from the actions, no people were rolling their eyes at her or trying to escape the party. Rarely did all of the houses come together without issues, but if it was one of those nights, Marlene wasn’t about to give it up without having a little fun. For the earlier part of the evening, she danced with anyone and everyone who came up to her and drew those who didn’t want to into the fray as well. And Marlene felt completely sober, especially compared to the state many of the students already seemed to be in. The woes of having an impossibly high tolerance for alcohol.
However, unlike most of the other students in the Quidditch pitch, this wasn’t the first time Marlene had been to the bonfire. She slid in easily last year and celebrated among the seventh years, and occasional other sixth year who had also made their way into the ‘private’ event. So as she slipped away from her center stage, the blonde navigated herself through the stumbling students, slapping at the hands that strayed where she didn’t want them until she came to what could only be described as a hoard of bottles. Rummaging through them, she let out a whoop of success that was entirely silenced by the roaring of the students around her.
Absinthe.
Grabbing a cup, she flicked the lid off the dangerous beverage with ease and poured it to them rim before downing it, not bothering to distill the drink. And that night, even Marlene McKinnon grimaced at the strength of the liquid as it burned down her throat, worse than any firewhiskey could dream of being. It was without releasing the bottle that Marlene reached out to take the nearest person’s hand in her own and leaned towards their ear, calling out loud enough to be heard. “Come drink and dance with me!” She shouted, taking a small step back before holding out the bottle of absinthe without releasing their hand, her grin falling effortlessly into place.
Frank was absolutely plastered. Three drinks in and his head was spinning in circles. Somehow everything seemed brighter, and he was bound to have a good night. Even if that meant harming his liver. He heard music somewhere off to his left. There must've been a radio that someone had brought. Probably a good idea. There needed to be something other than the chatter going on around him. The crowd was absolutely mad. There was dancing, grinding, was more like it. Some of the couples were dancing so disgustingly it made Frank feel sick to his stomach. He needed more to drink if he was supposed to stomach that.
Frank was a first timer this year to the bonfire. He had never really thought he should go, since he was a younger student. And his drinking habits hadn't started until the end of sixth year, way after the bonfire had been over. He tried to slide through the crowd, having quite a difficult time. He felt someone grabbing at him to come dance with them and he pulled away from their drunken grasp, rolling his eyes. The mass of people was so close together, he felt he would suffocate. Finally he made it out of the hoard, eyeing the drink station. Piles upon piles of alcohol of all sorts and varieties were scattered upon the pitch. "Bloody hell." He said, choosing his poison. As he hand reached for the bottle of Firewhiskey,he saw a bottle of Absinthe being taken, filling their own glass. He would never be that brave. And he always loved the taste of firewhiskey.
Frank grabbed a cup, before he realized who was pouring the drink next to him in her own glass. "Marlene!" He belted out in a sing-songy voice. He grabbed her waist pulling her in close, wrapping his arms around her. "I love you." He said, laughing. "We totally are dancing and then you and i are cuddling tonight." He probably would forget what promise he made to her. But he was serious about dancing with the blonde. He loved dancing, no matter if he had two left feet. "Are we going? Or are you making me drink more than this before we go?" He asked, downing his glass with a puckered face. No matter how much he drank, it burned going down. Frank welcomed it with open arms though, giving Marlene a wide grin.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Edgar was already quite drunk, having gone into his stash an h o u r before even leaving his dormitory and helping a few sixth years sneak in. At least this time there was no knocker that stopped him from actually entering the party – honestly, being asked riddles whilst intoxicated was just plain { rude }. How his sister managed to go through that every day was beyond him; thank Merlin tickling a pear took next to no brain cells. But now he was here, and was more than ready to make up for his lack of presence at the Ravenclaw party; everyone would be seeing their fair share of Edgar tonight, whether they wanted to or not.
Swaying slightly with a cup of alcohol in one hand, Edgar took continuous gulps of it while surveying the crowd. Dancing seemed like great fun, but for the moment, he’d rather seek someone out. Turning around, his face broke out into a boyish grin upon laying eyes on a familiar figure. Next thing he knew, he was quoting some strange show Park had made him watch once over the summer, laughing consecutively throughout it.
“Come on down to the Priiiice is right! Today we have a nighttime of being drunk, sloppy dancing, a few regrets, and a morning hangover! All this can be yours for a low low price of just a few shots with yours truly!”
Frank made his way through the crowd of people, looking for a familiar face that he would actually want to talk to, not that he wouldn't necessarily talk to everyone, he just needed a familiar face to settle down with. He told himself countless numbers of times saying he wouldn't drink this evening, that he wanted to remember it. However, by the time he had gotten to the bonfire, a drink was placed into his hand, and he eagerly downed it. Frank could usually follow through with his plans, but he didn't want to be the only one sober tonight. He knew there would be others, but he didn't care. He had a drink in his hand, again, trying to slow himself down.
He caught a glimpse of short blonde hair to his left and he spun around catching Edgar's eyes. His face lit up as he pushed his way through the crowd of people to get to the male. He bumped into some people, pushing them out out of the way. "You're crazy." He spoke, biting his lip. Raising an eyebrow at the other's words, he burst out laughing.
"What the hell did you just say. I heard shots."
