I needed this reminder, so I wrote it out!
God's paintbrush at the Morton Arboretum http://www.mortonarb.org/ Autumn is the best time to live in the Chicago area. This is one of the best places to view the colors. The Steelroots sculptures add another layer or interest.
It's always best to stop and smell the roses...or photograph the daisies...when you're out for a walk.
I love Sharpies. I love clarinets. I love music. And I love God. This little design wraps them all together. It was inspired, ironically enough, by a tattoo I saw and then I tweaked and tweaked...I guess that's what an artist is supposed to do. Sometimes you just need to let the ink flow and see what comes out! :)
First weekend of Fall and I just had to get out and get some sunflowers.
Beeeeeeez! I knew I needed to get out and get pictures of the morning glories early while they were still glorious. I got an extra surprise when a fuzzy little bee decided it was time for breakfast! He was a little too busy to pose for me, but I did the best I could.
Deserted, broken, empty and crumbling apart. This fountain is next to the DesPlains River in Bicentennial Park, Joliet. It's only 13 years old but shows the decay of this city. Good intentions but no funds to support it. The worse part of this is the name of the fountain - Frannie!
Random laundromat in Joliet. A magnet for the unfortunate. It's where I learned how many people enjoy exposing their most private, embarrassing thoughts on national TV via Jerry Springer. As long as the washer at home's out though, I just go in, tune out and retreat into my iBubble.
Things have been really rough trying to get our travel business up and running. A friend shared this passage and it has been a lot of comfort.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?
Bennie, my clarinet. Although he seems real enough to me!
Views from the Jackson Street Bridge, Joliet, Illinois, over the Des Plaines River. Gotta love my town!
Mt. Moriah Jewish Cemetery in Joliet. A prettier view of my city.
Joliet farms, another side of Joliet. I've been representing Joliet's more industrial side. These two pics represent the rich farm heritage of the area. The rich soil produces abundant crops. The crops feed not only humans but the meat industry. Many of the farms have given way to subdivisions and shopping centers. This one, on Bronk Rd., is surrounded by houses with just a small field that still produces crops.
Spring Magnolias in Joliet.
I had posted the Philippians project already, but these two are a set. Both of these verses have been very encouraging to me during difficult times in my life. The Isaiah project is the newest one, having carried me through the more recent difficulties in my life. Having lost so much strength because of an illness, then going through some tough economic times, this one verse kept going through my mind.
Fuzzy, soft, cuddly, purry kitties, curiously staring out the window guarding their territory against dangerous predators such as mice.
Cats aren't my favorite among pets, but I have 3 grandkitties. This one is Aela. She is another of God's (Fuzzy, soft, cuddly, purry) creations.
