May I borrow your shoulder? || Jaejoong and Kimberley
Jaejoong had his own family issues that he chose to forget sometimes. After he had gone into the mental institution, he had requested that he be updated on his mother’s well being at all times. He received notices that his mother had remarried, and had a girl. A smile usually spread over his lips as he read. He was happy that his mother was happy, even if it wasn’t him making her happy. He couldn’t make her happy. He wasn’t good enough as a son. The thought buried itself into his head and soon he stopped getting all sorts of information. Apparently, his mother had requested that he be kept out of it. Jaejoong sighed at the memory that had resurfaced. He was usually extremely stoic, but his new tentmate brought out the feelings.
Her name was Chen Fangyu and she was Kimley to everyone else, but Jaejoong affectionately called her FanFan. She reminded him of the little sister he had somewhere in Korea but had never met. Walking into the tent, he noticed that she was curled up on her bed, sobbing quietly. Seeing her like that broke Jaejoong’s heart a bit and he wanted to comfort her, but how could he comfort her when he was almost just as broken as her.
He stepped over to her bed and asked if she was alright. She replied that she was fine but her voice betrayed her. He sat down on the bed and rubbed her back. “FanFan…..you’re lying. I know that something is wrong. Tell me please?” He said, his voice quiet. “I’m here for you…”he whispered, hugging her close.
Sitting up on her bed as Jaejoong sat down, the petite girl wrapped her arms around the middle of his and rested her head on the wide shoulder. His embrace felt so nice and gave her the warmth she was missing. Being tentmates for quite a while, Kimberley knew that Jaejoong had just as many problems as her, but every time she had her low, breakdown, the only person she would want to have around her was him. He was a big brother for the young girl, a person that could cheer her up when she was sad, that would pat her head and laugh lightly when she did or said something stupid again. But at that point, the guilt of being a burden just stopped her from telling the worried male. The embrace around his body slightly tightened while she was debating over it, instead of answering his question the girl broke into tears and her lips were pressed together to hold back the sob.
Hot drops of tear streamed down her cheeks and found their end on the fabric of his shirt. The whole world around her, the circus and anyone else didn’t seem to exist anymore. There were only him and her with all the thoughts about her father, who had manipulated her brain to hide the supernatural ability. Kimberley knew better than anyone else that it was for her sake, in order guaranteeing her a normal life. But he had lied to her for 10 years. 10 out of her 17 years had been nothing but a lie. The truth hit her too hard to allow her to forgive him but he was the only person she had. How could a 15 years old girl cope the fact that she was a freak and that she accidentally took the life of her first boyfriend because he wanted too much from her while she wasn't ready for it? How could a girl in that state deal with the truth her father had manipulated her minds for 10 years to control her ability and her mother didn’t die because of a traffic accident but actually stayed in the shape of a snow white leopard as she crossed the limit of her animal morphing ability? The animal she considered as their pet was mother.
After crying on his shoulder for a while, the girl took a deep breath then mumbled between her sobs, "Gege, today is his birthday" Jaejoong was one of the rare knowing about her past. As soon as the words left her shaking lips, her arms tightened around him, while her body was shaking from crying in his embrace
