like on a lovely evening of unpacking trauma heh hed remember that when he was younger she had doubts abt hin identity but he was turned down by von karma and stuffs and hes remembering that and goes "wowzers a dress would be so kyewl so sigma so skibidi" (thats what went on in his head trust) and he talks to phoenix abt it somehow and he goes "oh i can buy a dress for u" (cuz yk reputation he doesnt wanna ruin his bc he was seen buying a dress yk and also narumitsu heh) and he does and miles clicks "oh wowzers yk what this is rlly nice heh"

later on she becomes a she and comes out to franziska and it takes her a while before she comes out to the public and she takes hormones and shes happy and shes so amazing and i love her sm

Lynne's character arc is really kneecapped by Ghost Trick's inability to fully commit to its criticism of the police, tbh. What if you dedicated your life to becoming a police detective because you wanted to be like your hero, the man who saved you from a traumatic event you've been mostly blocking out for ten years? And what if you dedicated more time and effort and risk--became a fugitive from the law and died and died and died--to prove that your hero isn't the kind of guy who would kill someone, because a good man wouldn't do that and you know he's a good man. And then in the process of doing that, you find out that actually the traumatic event that he saved you from would never have happened if your hero and his partner (your mentor) hadn't pushed a man to desperation over a crime he didn't commit. And you find out that that man died that day (did a part of you maybe already wonder about that, deep down?) and became a vengeful ghost, and you empathize with his suffering.

And then instead of processing any of that--instead of unpacking that your hero, the one whose footsteps you've dedicated your entire life to following in, isn't what you thought and that maybe detectives are as likely to hurt people as help them, instead of reconsidering your path in life at all--you just forget all that happened and go back to being a preteen.
