Try to wear socks at least every other day to retain moisture!

AVOID EXPENSIVE CARPET CLEANERS!

Alright, so we all know what it’s like to clean your home and feel like there’s still something missing. Sometimes after you’ve scrubbed from top to bottom it still feels like you just need that key element that could take your home to the next level. If you have darker carpet that doesn’t stain or if you have lighter carpet and have done pretty well with keeping the stains away, then here’s a way you might be able to avoid those expensive carpet cleaning services. Don’t go out and buy a $2500 dollar carpet cleaning vacuum if you don’t have to! People will pay big bucks to lug around a heavy carpet cleaning machine, or have the pros come to their house and clean the carpets for a pretty penny. But I say, why spend the money?!

I’ve been using carpet powders for years now and I absolutely swear by them! Glade’s scented carpet powders are usually my go-to brand but there are so many brands out there that do the same thing. I prefer Glade because they come in 32 ounces so I feel like I’m getting the most for my money, but it really doesn’t matter. They’re all cheap! They have so many different scents to choose from and they’re all pretty great. I’ve also read a couple good reviews that claimed the Glade brand is pretty allergy friendly, that’s not a huge deal for me but for people who are sensitive to smell I know that can be a huge factor. I know at stores like Target and Wal-Mart you can buy these guys for a dollar and some change. Seriously, the next time you’re thinking about hiring a carpet cleaning service, examine your carpet and see if you really need to. You might really just need a great smelling powder to lighten up the room and give it a fresh smell!
