Literally what I just thought after watching new TADC episode
pomni, we are SO fucked.
The silly AI who ruined it all.
the wacky one
the oblivious one
the one who was left behind
Oopsie daisy (bell)
The realisation that the others still care about him DESPITE everything just kills me like he’s surrounded by such good and forgiving people
caine going back to normal and this being his last words before he just silently vanishes was the craziest shit
not only was the callback to the pilot was so cool, but you can definitely see how much the show has improved since then holy shit
the most valueable skill a white leftist can ever learn is how to take an L with grace.
You gotta be able to take an L if your moral and ethical belief systems are to be capable of guiding you. Otherwise you just have an idealized self where you get really mad and scared when anyone points out it isn't actually you. How the fuck are you gonna walk the walk if you can't handle being told when you are not, in fact, actually walking it
you cannot just socially transition into being a good person you are going to have to settle for being a messy human being who has to try and fail and keep trying to get better like everyone else. yeah even when it's embarassing and sucks for you a lot.
Ya gotta learn to earnestly and honestly say "Oh shit, my bad."
And to then end the sentence there, not launch into a paragraph of explanation or panicked super-apology.
I did start this drawing a couple months ago, all things considered I'm a little worried for everyone in the show now
why does it take SO much energy to keep your house only sort of clean
anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.
not an apologizer but a contextualizer. yes the character did that but please understand the Circumstance. yes they had other options but they had to make this choice in a sea of available bad choices. and also it made the narrative more interesting. won't anybody think about the narrative!!!!!
the temptation every time there’s heavy rainfall to just go out on the street and
my daily affirmation as an author
A small funnybunny Drabble revolving around abstraction. I don’t write nearly as much as I used to. Plus, I tried to capture the insanity that is TADC. Hopefully it’s not too bad…
“Jax?” The words were uttered in such a soft voice that Jax nearly broke. His heart hammered loud and fast deep within his chest- the rabbit's chest. The feeling rising and pushing against his chest felt more rabbit than him. It always felt more animalistic than him. He wasn’t an animal, he was a human, he was a human, he was… The thoughts were becoming increasingly unstable. He was unstable.
“Don’t.” The word ripped through his throat, leaving the feeling of rawness behind. He choked his whine of discomfort down and settled for a low growl, ignoring the pain that followed. His word was supposed to scare, supposed to send her away. Instead, a hand lightly rested on his forearm.
“I’m not leaving you. You need to calm down. You almost-”
“I know.” Such a whiplash change in tone, and the hand that rested against his arm shook. The rabbit trembled, but he was stock still. He could feel the weight of denial slip from his shoulders. No one else was around. No one else saw. Or did they? Pinpricked pupils danced back and forth, refusing to take in the person, the jester, that stood before him. The image danced from cartoon to human. The worlds were too blended. He felt more augmented than real, but Pomni? She was real. She was human. He was human. Was he human? His figure blurred and danced before the jester. His harsh animated lines became undetectable swirls of incoherence. Lights danced around his head, promising a bright future, a comfortable place to rest. The rabbit longed to rush towards the technicolor world gracing their vision, but Jax was scared. He could feel the chokehold of fear that wound its way around his throat.
“I-” Pomni’s voice dropped as her hand slipped from Jax’s arm. A whimper hummed at the back of his throat. This was human. The human need to keep her.
“Don’t. Go.” Vulnerable words taste bad as they slip past his lips. The rabbit’s lips. Both frozen fear. Pomni’s blurred form became too jester-like. Too cartoon. Her hand lifted, a few paces away from Jax’s arm. Her hands widened cartoon figure, fitted with too white gloves. Her eyes were wider than normal, a kaleidoscope of red and blue swirled together in her iris. Pink cheeks frozen in an uncomfortable, confused smile.
“I won’t. I’m not leaving. I just-” Her eyes drop from Jax’s to her hand. It twisted and twirled unnaturally. Pomni’s hand matched the quivering of Jax’s avatar. He always forgot how contagious this was.
“I’m sorry.” The first real apology. The rabbit wretches deep within him, content on running and hiding, yet Jax remains. His eyes begged the jester to understand, it wasn’t him. It was never him. It was this poisonous place, the tampering of the mind. He was sorry. He was so sorry.
“I know. It’s okay, Jax. I’m right here.” Pomni practically cooed, but he didn’t miss the way her crazed eyes went right to left. They searched and scoured for a way out of the abstraction. Jax didn’t blame her; he couldn’t. The blunted humanity in him feared this too; the avatar had just taken over. It always does.
