Jay nodded as the two of them started walking back towards the dorms so that they might find Evie and Mal. Jay flushed when Carlos asked more about Dean. “What do you want to know?” he asked.

Carlos looked back at Jay, barely able to hide the grin forming on his own face as he can see the faint signs of a blush at his question, “Well - tell me more about him, where is he from? how old is he?” he waved his hand slightly as he spoke, smiling back at Jay, “I know he makes you happy - and I know he must be treating you well - so, really I just wanna know more about this guy that tamed your wild side a little, you know? He must be pretty special, and as your friend - i want to know more about him before I meet him.”

‘ would you look at that, i’m free right now too! ’ she chimed happily. ‘ let’s get started and after i can help you tidy up your room. ’ she promised.

“Well aren’t I lucky at that coincidence!” He happily nodded, grinning at Mal, “That’d be great - although I am not looking forward to seeing the state my room is in so.. avoiding that is a bonus. Do you have any ideas of where we could go that doesn’t have people all around?”

“Okay, you’re right there, I wouldn’t want to deny Evie the opportunity,” she chuckled, imagining already the kind of theatrics Evie would go through to help her friend find love, she wouldn’t put it past her. “I appreciate that, Carlos. Like I said, best guy in the game.”

Carlos laughed, shaking his head at the thought - honestly he was a tiny bit concerned about that happening, “I adore Evie but.. sometimes she can be a little scary when he mind gets set on something..” he glanced back at Lonnie with a wide smile, “Well, you know I’ve got your back - and with the two of us, maybe we can do something - to try and stop them from being so...lewd.”

“Okay but why don’t they do it all the time? Don’t they always want school spirit? I know nothing about school man.”

“I really don’t know - but, I’m kind of glad its not all the time. Some of these school spirit things are a little strange.. to have them going on all the time might get a bit crazy. But it’s fine if you don’t get it, I don’t really either - but, some of the things are fun so - just try and enjoy them a little.”

“Oh come on, never?” Lucas question with a raise of his eyebrows. “Thank you, dude. Much appreciated,”  he smiled at his sister’s friend.

Carlos chuckled softly, shrugging his shoulders slightly, “I’m not really into that kinda stuff - but I’ve been dragged along to a few occasionally, usually by Evie.” he gave a little grin at the mention of the blue haired girl, “So Lucas - how have you been? I haven’t seen you around all that much.”

“Whoever ends up with you is a lucky guy,” Lonnie promised. “And if you need someone to play matchmaker, I’ve got friends who love playing that part,” she chuckled. “I can handle myself, Carlos. But I appreciate the offer.”

At Lonnie’s words - his face flushed slightly, a small grin appearing on his face, “Thanks Lonnie - but I’m sure I’d be lucky too and I don’t think matchmaking is a good idea, plus I’m pretty Sure Evie would want to be involved in that a bit too.” He chuckled himself before nodding his head, “I know you can handle it yourself - but you’re my friend and you shouldn’t have to deal with that at all let alone on your own.”

“Damn right they are,” Jay smiled. “Maybe. You wanna go looking for them?”

“We’re lucky to have them.” He smiled himself as he nodded quickly, “Sure - lets go track our girls down and see if we can work out what this weirdness is about.”  Carlos tucks his phone away, grinning back at Jay, “Maybe you can tell me more about this Dean while we look around for Mal and Evie?”

‘ whenever you’re free, i’m free too now, carlos. ’ she insisted, this was important and she wasn’t going to make him feel like he had to book an appointment with her. plus this was mal, since when did she ever care skipping a class? 

“I’m free right now - well except for probably having to fix the mess that is my room..” he gave a small chuckle but got to his feet even as he spoke, “So - if you’re free now we can get started, plus - I can’t think of anyone better to help me learn some control over my powers and as a bonus - I’d love to hang out a bit more.”

“It’s been ages since I last went to a good party” he mused, sighing as his sentence was complete. “Somebody should throw one or something…” the twenty three year old said. “Don’t you think?”

“I don’t really go to any parties.” He gave a small shrug, shooting a small smile at Lucas, “I’m sure someone is planning some kind of party soon enough, just keep an ear out for one.”

“Can someone explain spirit week to me and why? What is the point of being so spirity?”

“It’s a little self explained, at least from what I know - I mean, It’s to help promote school spirit in a way. I guess its not really something that  everyone is into though right?”

Evie liked the fact that Carlos could sense her happiness since she’d been nothing but worry and nerves lately. With a gentle blush on her cheeks, she giggled a little bit. “Yeah, it’s pretty cute and funny at the same time. Something straight out of a romance novel.” Thinking about it as gently as possible, she wondered if Cleo was indeed like her core. “Since we’ve gotten together my powers haven’t really totally flared up,” she explained. “I’ll have to try that next time my mind wants me to steal someone’s beauty. I don’t know if it’ll totally help with my potion brewing powers though.” Looking at Carlos, Evie gave him a hug. “You shouldn’t have to feel guilty about something completely out of your control, Car.”

For the first time in almost a week, Carlos felt happy and calm - leaning slightly against Evie he grinned as he heard her giggling, “You’ll have to tell me your story sometime soon - like how you revealed your feelings and the story of who asked who out..” His eyes lit up as he spoke about it, he knew it’d be cute for sure. Carlos nodded slightly, “I’m almost certain she’s at least part of your core - from what you have said, she seems to help calm them.” he moved slightly, wrapping his arm around her and returning the hug, “We’ll work on the potion powers thing, maybe we can work on things together.”

“Please, you’re a great guy and someone amazing is going to come along. Just don’t stress out over it and something will happen.” She smiled at him. “Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”

“We’ll see what happens I guess - but thanks Lonnie. I think I needed to hear that.” He gave a quick smile back at her before nodding his head quickly, “Well then - I’ll just come and hang out in the locker room with you for a bit, maybe it’ll make those guys less mouthy.”

‘ i definitely do. ’ she smiled. ‘ gotta make sure you don’t become fried pup. ’

“Hey - I’m not that bad... wait, actually..” he paused scrunching his face up as he rubs at his arm, “Probably a good idea to keep an eye on me.. so, when do you have some free time? We should probably find somewhere open and..away from people to practice.”

“They’re opinionated girls. I’d be more shocked if they didn’t have anything to say about it.”

“True. But they are our girls.” He gave a quick shrug and grinned back at Jay, “Nah - I’m certain they have something to say and hey - if the four of us put our heads together maybe we can work out who’s behind it.”

Jay chuckled at that. “I’m sure it’ll be fine. But I do wanna hear what they’ve gotta say about this. It’s really fucking bizarre.”

Carlos gives his own small laugh before nodding slightly, “Lets hope so.. but I am wanting to hear Mal’s thoughts on the matter, I’m sure she’ll have something interesting to say. Maybe Evie has some ideas on how this person did this too..”

‘ you have nothing to feel bad for when you give people the chance to make their own decisions, you know? ’ she promised. 

“You’re probably right..” he smiled and leaned against her slightly, tilting his head as he looks back at her, “So important question for you... Want to help me learn to control my blowing things up thing?”

“Don’t feel pressured,” Lonnie smiled. “It’s just that we know you’re a really great guy is all.” She shrugged. “I don’t pretend to understand it either, but it’s something I’ve gotta deal with, so I can handle it.”

“I’ll try not to.. although it gives me some doubts of finding someone decent..” Carlos shrugs before grinning back at her, “Well - know you’re not alone in dealing with it, I’d be happy to help you out and keep you company sometimes.”
