So you may have heard the expression One True Pair (or OTP if you will) and if you haven't you've probably been living a fairly happy drama and stress free life so kudos to you! However I want to coin a new phrase today. My One True Band (or OTB for short). That's right I'm talking about the perfect combination of musicians that produce flawless albums that you will defend to the death against haters.

Now I don't know If you can guess who my OTB is? Oh you're never gonna get it. My One True band is Alexisonfire...also known as the only band ever. Wasn't that lucky! I first heard the band when I was 18 thanks to a Canadian friend I used to chat with on MSN who sent me a link to a stream of their song  'Accidents.' I really dug the song and downloaded it to my iPod but it kinda sat there collecting digital dust until I later saw the video for 'No Transitory' on Scuzz TV and realized it was the same band. I knew then that I NEEDED their album. So I went out to buy Watch Out! and whilst I was there I bought their self titled album too. BEST IMPULSE BUY EVER. 

But what really cemented them as my favorite band was their amazing live shows (and the fact that Atreyu who had been neck and neck crashed and burned.) Not only were Alexisonfire a heavy band but they were also amazing musicians who could completely change their songs to the point that they sounded completely new live. Ok and the fact that Wade was there being sexy helped...deal with it.

I think I've probably seen them about 15-20 times including their solo projects. I'm not really sure of the exact number but you know time flies when you're young and in love.  The best gig was definitely 2007 at Brixton Academy. It was just a magical night. The music also helped me through some dark times and without it I'm not sure where I'd be right now. 

I discussed in a previous video about the times that I've met the band members and I have to say the fact that they're such chilled out awesome people in real life really earned them the number 1 slot in my heart forever. Plus they're Canadian -- every one loves Canada!  I've met a few guys in bands and not all of them are that cool so it really does make a difference. However every picture I have with Wade is blurry as hell. Drunken people who took these pictures what were you doing? 'Oh could you guys please stand still. I'm trying to take the picture' I've now made it my number one goal in life to get a nice picture with Wade. You know the kind that I can put in a frame and show my grand mother.

Sadly the band broke up in 2011 but they did give us all a farewell tour last December. It was one of the most emotional nights of my life and I think I was hugging random people on the underground afterwards. Just one of those once in a life time events. Oh god now all the feels are coming rushing back.
