Freddie and his fabulous arrow jacket
Happy pride month, everyone 🏳️🌈
I will never shut up about how underrated Freddie and Anita's friendship was!!
Brian: nowhere to be found
Anita: vibing with the gays at Garden Lodge
I fucking love them and I love her
i honestly think this is one of his best looks, albeit a bit all over the place
something about it is so bitchy
I stumbled across a website called Mercury-and-Queen.com, and it hosts this magazine from 1974 called “The Queen File”. I had never seen it before and thought to share it here!
(Part 1)
He was a icon.
saw a post on twitter about how freddie mercury left everything to mary austin and all the comments are saying some shit like:
'proves mary was his soulmate'
'his desire for men was only physical'
'men and women's bonds are strongest even when a man is gay'
'this proves that freddie loved mary more than jim'
You've been cursed with this now (obviously you don't have to)
Name 5 things that make you happy, and then put this in the inbox of the last 10 people who have liked or reblogged something from you :)
sorry for only seeing this! not been active much recently
five things that make me happy hmmm... its a struggle to thing whilst most of my time is being spent studying
i'd say:
seeing my friends
getting to spend time on just my current interest/s
listening to my music whilst driving
painting my nails a new colour and absolutely loving it
and then this is really specific and kinda something i am more excited about, but every summer (around mid june) i rewatch my favourite tv show and oh my god i am literally so excited to do it again
but yeah, and then i am too shy to inbox people, lol, so i am opting out of that one if thats okay! and i honestly don't know...
sorry for the half-arsed one!
I don't know if it's just my algorithm on insta but I have been getting a lot of clips of Freddie Mercury just one my explore page, recently. Obviously its great, I love it, but there always so many snide and disgusting commented that it ruins the video for me.
One I have been seeing frequently is that video from the 1983/4 interview where the interviewer asks him how rich he his, and there's always shitty comments saying 'He was so rich yet couldn't buy condoms', or there will just be the general one under any video of him that says something along the lines of 'He got what he deserved for his deviant lifestyle'.
Obviously it is just blatant, nasty homophobia, but that aside, how horrible can you be to make comments like that on somebody's death? A real person's death, not to mention how painful and slow it was. It's horrific. They really act like Freddie went out and had sex in the hopes of catching AIDS.
It also upsets me how people just immediately associate Freddie with AIDS and ignore who he actually was. Every single thing I see of him in social media there are comment either mocking him for being gay or mocking him for dying from a disease.
you can criticise queen in any shape or form you want but you cannot say that their songs all sound the same
Do Not ask me why but father to son has just become the song of all time to me. like i decided to listen to queen 2 on saturday and something about that song in particular went 'you're going to be obsessed with me for the next two weeks' and i just had to go 'damn guess i am'
great song btw if you haven't heard it i suggest it heartily
Queen on the Front cover of Radio Times for the 40th anniversary of Live Aid
Staying iconic even in 2025, as per usual
“Freddie was also a special guest at the Japanese opening of the musical Cats, but wasn’t actually told he was guest of honor. He turned up late to discover the whole performance had been held up for him. When asked, on his return, how the trip [to Japan after the magic tour] had been, Joe Fanelli said, ‘Shopping with Freddie is like hitting yourself on the head repeatedly with an ice pick. It feels so good when you stop.’”
