i’ve now created an au idea that gabriel slept with eve and had a nephilim child with her

that child was cas

cas was lobotomized by naomi to believe he was fully an angel after gabriel left heaven

as requested, more info on the idea:

cas was used as leverage against gabriel so he would continue to stay in heaven as the rest of the archangels could tell he was planning to leave. gabe trusted his siblings to care enough for cas in his absence so he still left

castiel’s name means “my cover is god” as gabriel named him hoping that both his father and the rest of the heavenly host would protect while he could not. they didn’t.

the younger generation of angels, like balthazar and uriel, don’t know that castiel is a nephilim either. the older angels have “surgically” removed the human half of him.

he’s the longest living nephilim as he existed long before the creation of nephilims was banned (you can make an assumption that the banning of nephilims was as a result of him.) as nephilims get older, which most never have, their grace develops to match the true forms of their angelic side so that’s why castiel has a true form the size of the chrysler building.

while castiel started spending long amounts of time away from heaven, his human part of his soul began regrowing during seasons 4 and 5. chuck didn’t recreate castiel as a seraph in the s5 finale, he just sped up the growth of his soul till he was finally “whole” again.

gabriel didn’t mean for himself to be so easily revealed in changing channels but seeing his son caught him off guard enough that the winchesters were able to outsmart him

gabriel didn’t fully “sacrifice” himself to save humanity, he also did it for castiel

when castiel was killed in the s5 finale by lucifer, gabriel felt it aswell

smth smth about lucifer taunting cas in season 5 about not being a full angel, that he has every reason to rebel for what heaven did to him and cas having no idea what he’s talking about

lucifer wanting cas to not only join his side but saying he wants to bring justice for cas, revenge. and cas think lucifer is just manipulating him, that none of it is true

cas doesn’t fully figure out his true heritage until season 6 when raphael finally tells heaven, trying to get the rest of the angels against cas during the war.

him struggling to accept himself (trans parallel) as he hasn’t fully overcome his bias of humanity. hating gabriel for leaving him, hating heaven for what they hid from his, hating even himself.

he doesn’t tell the winchesters, only heaven is made aware now, so when naomi lobotomizes him in s8, he completely forgets his true identity again. metatron uses this to manipulate cas as he knows the truth.

feeling disloyal to both humanity and heaven, he struggles with where to go and who is his true family, if there’s even such a thing

skipping to the interesting part, gabriel and cas reunion in season 13 <3

cas asking if gabriel ever cared, gabriel trying to apologize as he truly feels bad for leaving his son after finding out everything heaven did to him. father-son bonding time cause we didn’t get it with lucifer and jack
