Sometimes I think about this fight and get sad

because despite saying to himself, "You won't get away with this, Krauser" after Krauser kills Luis, Leon proceeds to attempt to convince Krauser to stop fighting multiple times and even tries to run away by the end because he didn't want to have to kill Krauser.

And Krauser can tell

This is the only time that Leon has ever been this hesitant to fight anyone, or this hesitant to deal the final blow, and even Krauser is borderline comforting Leon as he convinces him to do what he has to do (when he says "that's right" as Leon holds the knife over his chest) because he can tell how much Leon is struggling to kill him. Leon even full on hesitates for multiple seconds as he keeps the knife hovered over Krauser and shuts his eyes in a final mental push to make himself stab Krauser.

Krauser's death scene and this fight is genuinely one of my favorite fights and scenes in all of gaming history for how hard it was for Leon to face Krauser like this and to kill him when Krauser left him no other choice. He tried repeatedly to leave, he tried repeatedly to convince him to stop fighting, he even implied that if Krauser had just stopped at any point that he would've let him walk away (when Leon says "You're really doing this? It's not too late!"), but there was no reasoning with him.

You can so clearly see just how much it took out of Leon to do that, walking away from Krauser's body like a lost puppy and looking back on him one last time before turning away and choosing to repress it, to push away every emotion he couldn't let bring him down. He couldn't let himself grieve any longer because he would've stayed in that grief forever. It's so tragic, and out of every fight Leon has ever been in, this was his hardest one because it was just so personal.

Credit card companies will TRY to saddle you with this kind of debt by the way - if ever a loved one dies and you are not co-signed on their credit card, do NOT agree to pay their debt unless you ask a lawyer first if you truly have to.

They will say “don’t you want them to go to the grave without debt”, they will try to guilt you, they will take advantage of your vulnerability.

Source: when my father died, he had some credit cards that my mom wasn’t on that she had no access to. The companies contacted her while she was sorting through the bills and getting a handle on how to run the house alone, badgering her with his credit card debt.

She wasn’t liable for any of it, but if she had ever agreed to pay before finding out that she didn’t need to, she would have been considered to have taken on his debt and would have HAD to pay it. It’s slimy, it’s predatory, and it’s entirely legal for them to do this.

Never accept the credit card company’s word about your obligation to pay anyone else’s debt, if you don’t have access to the card, ask a lawyer before agreeing to anything.

Big problem with most games is that the evil guys tend to look way way cooler than the good guys and the gear they use is unique to them. also whenever theres like magical corruption/pollution/cursed goop/rifts in space etc it just makes the area look 10x cooler than when the hero has completely cleared it up and brought life back to the area.

There needs to a game that's like the opposite of this. the land starts out as huge expanse of fields and forests and basically-featureless clearings. the town is chock full of people stuck in "comfortable but" positions. you are here to wreak havoc in a sense... sure, but you're not like... BAD guys. you do fight local bureaucratic government types who just wear grey suits and like... a conventional military, eventually, sure. But they don't Look Cool, and you don't actually have to Kill anyone. The rifts and energy fluxes you create turn an uncomfortably dull and monoculture society and continent with one with different elemental zones and life eventually evolves to fit the niches that you help create.

Something I don't recall ever having seen done

Earth is a deathworld

But not because of climate variation, not because of the animals, not even really because of humans

But because of tectonic plates

Most other planets (as far as I'm aware) don't have tectonic plates

And that's because Earth collided with Theia all those billions of years ago

So I'd like to see Aliens reactions to tectonic activity

During an earthquake:

A: What is going on?! Why is the ground moving?!

H: It's an Earthquake, not a very strong one though, so it's not too bad

A: A WHAT?!

H: ...An Earthquake?

A: What does that mean?!

H: It's where the uh, tectonic plates rub against each other or something, idk, i don't remember

H: The... Chunks of Earth's crust?

A: Why is your planet's outermost later in chunks?!

H: I don't know, probably because of something when it formed
