Life is funny. As a follow up to my positive post earlier ... We had hurricane force wind and rain. We were working at Middle Ranch and the power was flickering. They told us to go back to camp ASAP. It was annihilated. At least something of everyone's was wet. Tents ripped, things broken. Trees uprooted. PowerLine poles snapped. So now we have 9 people crammed into 2 of the smallest motel rooms I've ever seen. Time for a drink. Touché Catalina. #calmafterthestorm (at Catalina Island)

Some days the weather sucks, others your coworkers are frustrating, and still others are rough for things having nothing to do with work. But multiple times a week I get to hike, 4×4, exercise, learn something new, and see spectacular sights; the sort of things I would go out of my way and make time for back home. You could say I'm lucky. And you would be right. I'm incredibly fortunate and grateful for this experience. A week from now it will all be over. I'll miss this place and these people. This big guy mudt have gotten through the fence yesterday. Saw him in Two Harbors on the Catalina Harbor side. It's pretty rare to see bison and the Pacific Ocean in the same picture. #bisonandtheocean

There were tons of interesting and beautiful plants at the Wrigley Botanical Gardens, but I really like this Dragon Tree. The memorial building was quite impressive as well. And I saw a Catalina Island Fox! :) #wrigleybotanicalgarden #dragontree #catalinaisland #avalon
