((I’ll be progressively reposting his musings and gossipping and quotes and whatnot from the side-blog version. Since I didn’t really have him interact all that much before making him an official blog I’d ideally like to “reset” everything, though if any of the few who’ve actually interacted with him are dead-set against resetting things and want to continue from where it was left off, lemme know and I’ll reblog those posts onto the new one as well.

"On days that the Humilau Gym opens, I usually have to show up before opening hours. The problem with Marlon is that he has a rather major tendency to prefer swimming around naked. Which is of course perfectly fine in private, but not in public, and once the Gym is open is it most definitely considered a public area. So I always need to arrive beforehand in order to remind him to at the very least pull some swimming trunks on, lest he wants to be arrested and have his title as a Gym Leader removed."

"Well a language barrier between you and your friends is always frustrating, isn’t it? Naturally it would irk you. Don’t you wish you could understand that… Alomomola you have?"

"…I have a hard time picturing Roxie singing anything qualifying as a ‘ballad’, though. And if you really did hear her singing anything like that and you insist on blabbing about it, I’d suggest you watch your back.”

"Well, being able to understand her words would certainly be most amazing! But we've been together for a long time already, and body-language can be surprisingly more revealing than you'd believe. But that's something only time really allows for, I suppose.

I would watch my back if I could, but...well, I don't have any eyes in the back of my head, and even if I did I still probably wouldn't see any better, heheh."

"Oi, there’s nothing wrong with coffee or tea! I’d be happy to serve cocktails, but as great as drunk battles sound I don’t think that’s a good idea considering the amount of minors that come to challenge the Gym."

"Force of habit. I do it outside every other Gym too. Not every Gym offers free bottles of Fresh Water, and it's important to stay hydrated during Pokémon battles."

"Holidays start in a couple weeks...I can't wait to get a few days off and go back to the Striaton Restaurant. People keep asking me why I'd rather work than relax on days off, but really, those three boys are great and I love getting to serve drinks to the people that walk in. Reminds me of my younger days~"

"...Oh. Um...Heheheh, whoops. Sorry. I wasn't sure how to bring it up with you, so...well, I never did, obviously. I don't think it's wrong to try and be closer to your Pokémon, I'm mostly surprised that it would bother you so much not to be able to understand them.

As for Roxie's ballads, I assume she wrote them herself- they're not anything I've ever heard on the radio before."

"I've noticed that Cheren speaks to his Pokémon rather often. He's smart, so he knows that I've been around long enough to notice that he talks to his Pokémon a lot more than most people. He admitted to his companions that it bothers him to know that some people can undestand his Pokémon better than he can himself.

...I wonder if he knows I overheard that."

"I think it's a shame Roxie's band isn't a tad more popular. Her singing is actually very good, and they're all quite talented with their respective instruments. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's possibly because the lyrics they come up don't quite match their musical style...it's almost like hearing children's songs performed by a heavy metal band.

Maybe if she was a little more confident about the country love ballads she writes when nobody's looking they'd do better. I've overheard her singing one or two, and they're really nice."
