If you're still not quite clear on what the article is saying, this woman had a rapidly growing malignant tumor until her doctor poked it with one needle to take a sample.

Her immune cells responded to that tiny little needle wound as they normally would, and only then detected something wrong with the surrounding cells, attacking the cancer they now associated with that trivial damage.

It doesn't reliably work that way all the time or we would have noticed this happening a lot more often, but this would also seem to imply that, across the entire history of the practice, there's probably an above-zero number of people who actually beat cancer through acupuncture.

Regarding Pokemon AUs, I love the idea of Brucie Wayne with all these terrifying pokemans on his team while Batman has the tiny adorable "useless" ones.

There's Batman, and then there's Batman's Jigglypuff?

(Imagine you're a Gotham Goon(TM) expecting to ambush the goddamned Batman in a warehouse and a Jigglypuff with a domino mask or full-on suit is just.

Standing in the middle of the warehouse with a spotlight on it and and you and your fellow goons just stare at it before it starts to Sing?

Right as you start to fall asleep you see the goddamned Batman show up out of nowhere to bash some skulls in and the whatnot.)

But also tiny!Bruce with this Rookidee he finds on the grounds of Wayne Manor?

Quiet and sad little Bruce who is being raised by Alfred going for a walk and there's this Rookidee with an injured wing or some such and of course he can't just leave it.

It's like this ball of feathers and resentment and distrust. Pecks him when he tries to help it - of course it does.

It's scared and hurt and alone, and Bruce is however times its size and an unknown, and long story short he's kind of a mess when he gets back to the Manor and Alfred is just.

"My word."

But.

They get the Rookidee seen to and and such and many many years later there's some gala or other and Brucie is in attendance when some criminal type attack and someone tries to take him hostage - he's Bruce Wayne, this is far from the first time - and Bruce is like.

Yes, okay, but.

Because it's the kind of gala or whatever where everyone has their pokemans with them, but no one's seen Brucie's?

Until the baddies drag him outside towards their van or whatever and there's this screech, and then a huge shadow overhead - is it the Bat?

But no!

It is a fuck off huge Corviknight who was chilling on the roof because too big to be indoors, and anyway.

Mistakes were made.
